I got USB for that reason, so I could have vent going through my headphones and everything else going through my soundcard.Dr. kitteny berk wrote:I'd avoid USB like the plague, they act like a soundcard, so if you use speakers too, you can have no end of fun.
That and the chineseness of the things can result in pretty poor function in random configurations.

I use a usb headset for teamspack but I have a jill end set for plugging into my soundcard for musics.
Buy yourself a logitech premium or clearchat. Cheap and cheerful and can take a fair beating. Sound isn't too bad either.
Those cans look like your going to sweat your ears off and break the boom mic off very quickly.

Hmm I had this same problem until I came up with a great solution.
I use apple in ear headphones and I plug those in to my head phone jack.
THEN I get another pair of apple in ear headphones and plug THOSE in to the microphone jack. I can only talk in to the earphone marked L and it kind of has to be inside your mouth when you talk but you get used to that.
The sound quality? I love the reverb.
The voice quality? Either no one can hear your or as stated before, you hold the mic in your teeth and talk and they can sort of hear you.. if you are holding the mic in your mouth, when you are not speaking, you can make everyone in teamspeak uncomfortable with your loud creepy breathing. Warning: choking hazard.
Total cost? Just over 40 quid at an apple store where they have really nice sales hippies who smell of fresh wooden mulch and soy products.
No really I need a new one too. This set up sucks.

Well considering I'm using on board sound at the moment, I think I'll give the Logitech Premium USB 350's a go as I've read a few good reviews... Should increase frame rates for gaymes too, so the reviews would let me believe anyway.
