Correct! I'll be spamming Amiga games for a bit yet, as I spent a large proportion of my teenage years playing them.

I had vauge recollections of it having up and downy bits too (although I could be making that up or confusing it with the sequel/another game)
My least favorite bit (although also the bit I remember as being a good challenge) was where you had a short level and an enormous fuckoff ship type thing and you had to launch your blob thing over the top of it and then battle your way through the underside to drop your thing into a small gap on the top
