bad physics there. the protection you get from being in the car has nothing to do with the connection to the ground. The electricity just arced from a cloud a few thousand feet up in the air, the jump from your car to the ground would not be a problem. The electricity just doesn't want to go on the inside of the car. Since the electrons repel each other, they want to get as far away from each other, they'll occupy the outside of the car body until there just isn't any more space for electrons on the outside.Grimmie wrote:Only point I would make is that your car is now earthed and will not protect you from lightning.
