Dear Rod,

enclosed is a claim letter for the damage done to my ladder I leant you a few years back.

It seems to have buckled, and is now covered in some form of washable red paint. You haven't replied to any of my letters since I leant you that ladder, which is why I'm now taking up legal proceedings.
