I felt the same in the past Fea, but it honestly is much more fun these days. No politics, no capitals (yet).
Best thing would be to mothball the carrier (or perhaps even sell or donate it to someone) - that way you're bound to have much more fun playing EVE. We haven't got a POS you can sit in even if you wanted to!
Don't get me wrong, I'm all for wtfpwning carriers, I just think that's what destroyed your enjoyment so much.

BTW trace, I think because rabbit is a girl and isn't playing that much because he has a "social life" or something - that the carrier should be renamed "Fear's Bitch". Especially as it saved my life yesterday with the silly armour repping you were doing on me whilst martyring myself.

Fea mate, do try bumming around 9uy with Hobos, it's quick gratification. I was arseing around in empire, bored ... JC'd up to 9UY and jumped in the brute. 15 minutes later I'm being supported by 2 Hobos inties in a fight with a Cerb that we would've won but for my rubbish bumping skills. Of course I did have to put up with Davik treating me like a noob for a while afterwards but meh it was aces!
