'Lo!

'Lo all! Got back from Spain and was greeted by this lovely topic... The IGN top 10 is clearly compiled by muppets who've only played games for a year or 2.

Many a time have me and my obsessed mates gone through this topic in the pub and it's different every time & never gets dull. Also top 10 gaming moments, individual bits in games that have made you shit yourself/cry with joy/both. Here's my top 10 anyhoo in no particular order although a few i feel extra strong about are in bold:

Legend of Zelda: A Link to the past (snes)
Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time (N64)
Legend of Zelda: Majora's Mask (N64)
Syndicate (Amiga)
Cannon Fodder 1 (Amiga)
Dreamweb (Amiga)
Deus Ex (PC)
Half Life (PC)
Half Life 2 (PC)
Halo (PC)

I could go on for hours and make a list as long as the average B3ta QOTW reply, but I wont...

Top 10 Gaming moments next?

Here's my top ten then, based on how awed I was on playing them for the first time. I wish I could say there were some of the old Speccy or C64 classics here, but gaming just keeps getting better.

So, in no particular order...

Cannon Fodder (Amiga). Original, funny, simple and fun. Pure gaming genius.
Syndicate (Amiga). Dark, compelling and ultra-violent.
Half Life. FPSs come and go, but Half Life stands out by never being boring or repetetive.
GTA: Vice City. Flawless arcade gameplay and excellent soundtrack.
Doom. The first game to ever have my pulse racing as I peeked around corners.
Duke Nukem 3D. The best multiplayer FPS of its time.
Speedball 2 (Amiga). Frantic, violent multiplayer fun. "Ice Cream!"
Diablo. Simple but compelling. I hardly slept playing this game.
Alien Vs Predator. Heart stopping and atmospheric. Sphincter twitching stuff.
Civilization. Time distorts when playing this game. I lost half my college years to it.

Cheers :)
