5punkfleet Information
We need to know what ships you can fly, so if you could reply to this with whatever of the following you can fly that would be great. Please post just the type with the ship that you'd fly, keep it nice and simple. If possible please list the ships in order of your capability in them, for example if you have the most skill points in ECM modules, put an EW ship at the top of your list.
Types:
Interdictor
Tackler - T1 frigate or Interceptor.
EW Cruiser - Remote Sensor Dampeners or ECM.
Battleship Close Range
Battleship EW
Battleship Long Range - A turret battleship that can hit to at least 120km.
Thanks.

6. Interdictor: Not yet, and its not on my to do list for now. need 2 levels in dessies first
1 Tackler - Minnie frig 5 so i can chuck rifter/claw/stilleto/wolf/jaguar into the mix. Minnie cruiser 5, and stabber makes a very good heavy tackler platform
=4 EW Cruiser - can fly in a scythe (tracking links but probably not much good) caldari cruiser 4 i think, so can fly a blackbird, but prolly better using multispecs rather than racial because of lack of skills
2 Battleship Close Range - Minnie BS 4. Typhoons are ALL about the close range, 650s and siege launchers. or a nosphoon/nanophoon
=4 Battleship EW : tempest/maelstrom - 5/6 midslots, can chuck a decent armour tank, so either can ew. lack of skills for long range EW. caldari BS at 2, so could field a scorp, but again EW skills aint up to much
3 Battleship Long Range - A turret battleship that can hit to at least 120km.
Typhoon/tempest. prollybetter with a tempest, because of the damage bonus. can hit out to 140km easily. locking range is only 160km however.
i could skill up a level in cal BS and get a rokh, but i have no railgun skills at all, so wouldnt get teh range bonus
ETA: of the above ships, all i have are the Typhoon, maelstrom, and the rifter. i can get a tempest without too much hassle, but owt else is difficult

Re: 5punkfleet Information
Tackler - All T1 Frigs with me having more hybrid SP (T2 smalls, soon T2 med)for gallente, and can fly gallente 'cepters & AFs.
EW Cruiser - I have decent damp skills for a cele, and Gall cruiser 5, wouldn't take much for me to get into a recon or a logistic cruiser either. HAC once I get the skill.
Battleship Close Range Can only fly Gallente, but hey, I get to use a blasterthron and a hyperion.
Battleship Long Range - With enough mods I can hit 120km with un-named T1 rails. Can get farther if I had the isk for the named jobbies.
Battleship EW Um, I could fit EW to the domi I think.
Interdictor Nope
BTW, I have um... none of most of these ships.

Interdictor
Tackler - T1 Frigates (Amarr, Caldari, Gallente), Ammar Interceptors + AF, T1 Sensor dampeners/scramblers/jammers
EW Cruiser - T1 Cruisers (Ammar, Caldari)
Battleship Close Range - Raven with T2 Torps, Ammar BS with T1 Large
Battleship EW - unsure, doubtful
Battleship Long Range - Can go long range (up to about 140km) with T2 torps if necessary, no railguns and so of note. Could use Amarr with Lasers though and I have some T2 mods in empire for it should I ever go back to them

Re: 5punkfleet Information
From top to bottom by SP (sorta);
Types:
Tackler - All T1 frigs, T2 Gallente and Minnie inty and AF
Damage dealing cruiser/HAC (not on your list but I thought I'd add it for raiding gang usage). HAC prereqs done but skill not trained. All T2 mods (med guns etc) for Gallente sorted
Battleship Close Range - Blasterthron
Battleship Long Range - Rail ... errr ... thron
EW Cruiser - Celestis or jamming rax (but not much SP in ECM)
Battleship EW - Domi
Interdictor - not yet
Cov-ops (again not on your list but important, I thought) ... errr ... no
Oh, and I don't own a Mega atm, although working on that. I have loads of cruisers though, just can't find them atm

Re: 5punkfleet Information
Tackler - Gallente and Minmatar frigs and AFs, will be able to fly intys within a few months.
EW Cruiser - Celestis, bare minimum EW skills.
Battleship Close Range - Blaster domi/mega/hyp.
Battleship EW - Domi with damps maybe... but again, bare minimum EW skills.
Battleship Long Range - Megathron.
I'm best off in some form of blaster ship since thats where most my skills lie.

Don't worry about acquiring ships - this thread is to work out what we need to build for 5punkfleet, which will hopefully become apparent.

If you don't want to know how to the Military Decision Making Process to a computer game then stop reading now
In the Army we think in terms of Effects Based planning. We don't just 'send lots of men to kill everybody'. That's all a bit 19th Century and is very costly. A more efficient method is to match people's skills with the effect we want to have on the enemy (effects = find (scout), fix (tackle), strike (damage), deny (jam/damp), etc) and then provide the resources to do it (resources = ships/modules/tactics/training etc). We should then be able to assign everyone roles that best match your skills. That doesn't mean you have to fly the same ship all the time, as long as you achieve the same effect, and the more you practise that effect, the better you get at it, in theory.
In any PvP gang, you must cover cover every effect by assigning a task to which you allocate a resource and then assign the best person you have to that role. For example:
Effect = Task = Resource = Assignment
FIND = Scout = CovOps = Friz
FIX = Tackle = Interceptor = Fab
STRIKE = Damage = BS = Fea
DENY = EW = Scorp = Silver
Add more people, you can double up the tasks and start to get more creative. But without the 3 core effects of Find, Fix and Strike you can't even start to PvP.

If you mean tracking disruptors, we've got limited people and if possible I'd rather not limit some EW to a certain type of ship, RSD's and ECM effect everything and is the best base for a small number of people. Also, as Friz said this is to get an idea of what needs to be built, hence I didn't mention Cov Ops (as we can't build them) or T1 damage dealing cruisers (as I want those people into BS'sHehulk wrote:To argue over symantics, I'd list weapon disruption as a viable option as well.
