Dog Pants wrote:Spoodie's comment about not understanding these awards and several of you's comments on how everyone deserves praise has raised a good point. These awards are really just a tongue-in-cheek way of saying thanks and having a bit of a laugh about our antics over the last year. They're certainly not meant to make anyone feel excluded or to be any form of elitism (half of the awards are hardly accolades anyway!).

The best way I can thank all you guys is by pointing out how little work I have to do. 5punk remains an oasis in the sea of 'ZOMG U N00b' because of the people who post here and who play the games. There isn't a single 5punker who I feel is out of place, or who I'd rather didn't post (possibly down to the Berk felcher though). Also, as B3ta sometimes proves, is could be easy for us to get insular and elitist and to alienate new members, but constant praise by new members of the 'introduce yourself' forum and some very well-informed and constructive (and some daft) posts by newer members proves that we're keeping the 5punky atmosphere alive.

There's loads of people I'd like to give special mention to, but to do so would alienate anyone I might miss and I genuinely think everyone - from us with thousands of posts to those with only a few - makes a great contribution. Cheers guys :likesitall:

Woo Elephant Yeah wrote:Father Jack - For always posting useful and informative posts, and I think you'd all agree that this man has literacy skills far beyond our own, and his posts are always a joy (if somewhat very time consuming) to read.
Thanks muchly for the mention - while I'm lucky that language skills come naturally to me, (yes, I actually talk like this when enthused about something,) my posts are not made without effort. As people on Skype/XFire/MSN will attest, my typing skills are somewhat spacky, a special mention goes out to dictionary.com from where I check all these words what I write, and a big up to my best friend, the preview button. I'm pleased the time I spend on here is of use to people and happy to contribute more of it to this worthwhile and hugely entertaining venture.

I tried to keep my nominations to the descriptions of categories in the first post, but like many have already said, it would be impossible for 5punk to be what it is without everyone here, so a big congrats to, er...all of us.

meh lurve you all... */man hugs, but not in a faaabulous way

Thanks to all those who nominated my liver for an award, I keep it in a box most of the time but I shall let it know it has been nominated.

Should make my own list and will when I find the time.. been mostly lurking these days as haven't had the time to compose anything of worth.

EDIT: Oooh never noticed the felcher before.. my g.a.y. reference has been changed to faaabulous.. cool

Nicely quick, and you can even do multiple queries at once.

Damn my sausage fingers and their random clicking :(

Right rather than conform to the 'dirty lurker' tag I've decided to put on my dark glasses and venture forth from the Eve forums to add my tuppence worth. I don't feel qualified from my short time here to nominate in all categories so here's the abridged version:

Spammer of the Year - Berk, that's a no brainer.

Pimp of the Year - No, not CentreEdgeDesign although he is very good. I'm actually going for Friznit. He may not recruit quite as many corp members as Dres but he does make a damn fine effort to ensure that those who are recruited find their way to the 5punk boards and hang around.

Monkey at the keyboard - :? Peter Armstrong by a mile. I'm not even sure he's using the same language as the rest of us. I just don't understand a word of what he says.

5punker of the year - Like the majority I'm plumping for WEY; he makes it all happen

I don't feel it'd be fair for me to be a certain for 2 awards. :)

for a start, there is no challenge, I'd win by default (given most of the pics that would win it contain me and blood)

secondly, this is a family site, so be careful what you post.

Please don't feel the need to show us how "kerazy" you are by posting lots of weird pictures. It always feels so contrived.

Anyway, just Google image Berk's name.

Spammer Of The Year Award
Theres no option but, BERK!!!!!!!

Most Potential As A Vampire Award
Grimmie or Heluk me thinks.

Pimp Of The Year
THe eve guy, the weirdo's they are....

Nazi Of The Year
Anyone who follows me around the forum ( I know, I love my self, I can't resist it though)

Monkey-At-A-Keyboard Award
Me, an if anyone steals it, I will hunt them down with a rusty sppoon......

Bastard Of The Year
GUNSLINGER!!!!!!!!

Liver Of The Year
Either JockGit and his Pirate tecniques (you stilll neeed to teach me) or Dog Pants and his sink Blocking (a better plumber than I)

Teamspeak Tit Of The Year
ROBO

And Finally...

The Sir Die Aloty Award for 5punker Of The Year
I really think this should go to prof, but failing that, our kreator, WEY and the code money that is stoat and our admin Mr Pants, and failing that, ROBO for makingmost of us pretty much piss our selves.

That was one of several awards I had in mind that would just have no competition. I'll mention them come the awards.

Spammer Of The Year Award
I'm going to vote Dolly Parton narf. Her ability to post giberish in the wrong place seems to know no end.

Most Potential As A Vampire Award
Can I vote me? Failing that, I vote Grimmie

Pimp Of The Year
Hmmm, hard one. Think in the end, I'd have to say CentreDesignEdge, who recruits guys on a weekly basis, even if most of them are heavy lurkers.

Nazi Of The Year
Honestly no idea on this one

Monkey-At-A-Keyboard Award
He's already won it, but Ty just for the non sensical junk he posts in bad english when drunk.

Bastard Of The Year
Stoat, for the 5chedular, discussion board and the other backend stuff he's done for the site.

Liver Of The Year
Jockgit, for the two bottles of tesco value whiskey he consumed at a LAN

The Sir Die Aloty Award for 5punker Of The Year
Popular vote from me as well for Wey, for founding the place, getting it going and bring in enough people to get the site growing. Without him, life would be a fair bit duller.

Special Mentions huh? Berk for being the snarling little berk who puts up with our omg bukkake is down posts in good humour (most of the time :P ), Robo because there never will be a better planetary overlord and Vlad for spreading the message of comunist love through very strange mediums. Also Dog Pants and Ty, for just being them.

It's nice, but needs more antonyms and synonyms, which the thesaurus bit of dictionary.com does rather nicely.

Also it needs more words - it appears I know a few that it doesn't, one of which is in this post.

*Petitions for a FatherJacktionary*

I use Freesearch, which helps my speeeling, but not my grammar and punctuation :(
