Just had a quick go on the Free Trial, and in a word it's PANTS. Nothing new or exciting, looks like HL1 graphics, not worth the money they are asking, if it was free mod then yep I might add to the list, but not something I would pay out for... :(

I put a good 2 minutes into it earlier.

The feel/playability is the same as the old Red Orchestra UT2004 mods.

Nothing special, doesn't feel right, just poor.

This. I gave it about 10 minutes and decided it was very poor. So I played some Starcraft :D

I played for about an hour. Stupidly I was expecting a port to the source engine rather than a Steam delivered UT2004 mod.

Nevertheless it looks and plays okay but it's got far too many controls for my liking and I didn't know all the buttons so was slightly crippled. I did manage to get a few good kills though which does say something for the balancing of the game, no matter how good you are you can always get taken done by a n00b, just like in real war. :)

Entering vehicles gives you a realistic view through the small slots which makes it very easy to run over your own team mates, which I did and so decided I wasn't qualified to drive them. Also grenades are almost pointless as they travel no distance at all and you have more chance of killing yourself than the enemy.

Overall quite a good game but far too "realistic" for my tastes.

:poo:

Looked horrid, played sluggishly. Reminded me of something I played years ago, which must have been the original.

Did learn something though - apparently allied tanks were equipped with green lasers during WW2, I never knew that.

Close, the russian tracer rounds were green, however the UT2.5 engine is pretty crap, legs always feel too short too.
