Venom wrote:Ok well basically, the whole wayto win a battle is to do more damage (Kill more cost basically) and still have ships left over.

if you create fast ship that fire first and are really cheap, then they fire at a heavier ships, kill more damage, die in return fire, but they cost not much, so you lose less, then you have 3 designs that all target destroyers. Now down at your lever no-one is likely to have Destroyers, so they wont be able to fireand get killed by return fire. And if your opponent only has one or 2 designs, then they will kill 2 out of 3 of those 3 designs, but you will still have one design left, and you killed more weight, you win :ahoy:

Help?
Yes I think I get it now. You win the battle, but don't actually do much damage (just more than they did to you).

I was thinking more of completely obliterating them, so that you can grab their planets, or whittling them down so your mates can move in for the kill, rather than just increasing your "battles won" count - or does that increase your score in itself?

Heh, does nothing for you score. But the battle rankings show haw accomplished you are in tactics and battles :ahoy:

The 9 ship tactic is just an easy and cheap way of getting planets from people with only one or 2 designs. so early on :ahoy:

So get out there planet harvesting!

Tehehehe Ok, well the only tactic i can think of that would fit under that name is this one.

Targeting.

When you design a ship, at the end it allows you to set three targets.

Well, if someone has one Striker design which has say 30,000 ships in it, and another Striker design that has 20,000 ships in it and 8 designs of foozles.

you tihnk ARGH! 50,000 STRIKERS!! IM DEAD!

Or are you?

If their strikers and fighters target fighters first.... then keep say 5 of each foozle design at home, and keep say 30,000 of your own strikers at home. Then the battle will go like this.

30,000 of X's Strikers 1 attack 5 of Your foozles. You lose 5 foozles
20,000 of X's Strikers 2 attack 5 of your foozles. You lsoe 5 foozles
1 of X's foozles attack 5 of you foozles. you lose 1 foozle.
1 of X's foozles attack 5 of you foozles. you lose 1 foozle.
1 of X's foozles attack 5 of you foozles. you lose 1 foozle.
1 of X's foozles attack 5 of you foozles. you lose 1 foozle.

Then it come your turn to fire....

30,000 of Your Strikers fire at 30,000 of X's Strikers. X Loses 20,000 Strikers.
2,000 of X's Striker return Fire on you Strikers. You lose 700 Strikers.

Attacking Losses: 718
Defending losses: 20,000

And that is without you foozles adding a tiny bit more damage. The whole idea of the tactic is to find out their targetting with some probes, and once you have found that, keep their main designs distracted from your main designs.

Understand? Its hard to understand, but it works well once you understand it. Its why sector 17 are easy to beat, they have one of two designs in which they invest most of their money, so if you keep those designs busy, then you have practically won :-) Tehehehehe As you can do more damage :ahoy:

Long post and hard to understand but i hope it helps :ahoy:
