CS_5punk_Assault FINAL

Post by Dr. kitteny berk »

well, that's it, Jinxx and I have sweated blood, sweat and sudan I getting this done... but here it is.

All in pretty much a 1:1 rehash of assault from 1.6, no fancy extras, nothing special, just a rebuild really.

*FINAL BUILD*

EDIT: New thread for actual final version

Please do post comments on stuff we might have missed, it's been a hell of a slog at times and we'd like to get things right on this before moving along to another collaboration.

indeed, we've probably put > 40 hours each in over the last week, so pick up on any fuckups you can, anything to make it better, etc, etc.

Oh, it's fantastic! Shame about the van though. Couldn't you just build it from shapes, no need to use a prop. Unless there is one.

there was the original brush one, but that was plain nasty, if anything i'll model a unimog or perhaps *seriously* hack an apc model.

Hax! A van would be nice because sometimes you really need it. Well, if you're the last CT left and there are about 3Ts left. If they come looking for you, you just camp in the van and wait until they wanna get onto the roof.

indeed, something will be worked out, just downloading the horrible thing which is softimage.

ideally i'd like to rip off the original apc from source, but open the back door and make it the sexy.

Softimage gives me the fear, but i'm determined to at least be able to do basic modelling with it.

now this i like!

good to have that map back, as I lived it on the original - great job guys!

The only thing i noticed is that at the top of the slope up to the second level of the warehouse, there's a 'careful, you can slip and fall on these stairs' sign... but it's a slope not stairs (i'd imagine you are fully aware of this though)

that was the only thing i noticed too!

ohh also, any chance of making that green back door a little quieter when you open it?

We joked about this during the last few phases of construction, I put it in because that slope would never conform to building regulations :P

But, there was a bit of mixed feelings on that slope on my part - I wanted to make them into stairs for realism's sake but then it'd detract from the original form of the map. Either way, the sign's a joke.

And I rather like the squeaky door, Berk may decide otherwise.

Hehehe, i did laugh when I saw it! If it was a slope in the original then you may as well leave it how it is!

Let's hope public opinion stills the inner architect.

Just had an idea. Can we put the 5punk tag in there anywhere, just as a bit of advertising?

actually, that was/ is in the planning, it's just we couldn't *quite* be arsed.

as is, we have a workable, nearly identical to the original level that we can chuck at you lot to find bugs/ screwups.

now comes the error fixing and adding the extra shinies in.

viper_2090 wrote:I've played it a bit with some bots now, and it's very good!! Only 2 things i have found...

1)The bots seem to go tits up a bit by that green squeaky door, getting stuck a fair bit!

2) There are some squashed plastic container things by the green bin near to the CT spawn.. they seem to drop into place when I spawn, I can only see this for a split second, and I have to be facing the right way. This is nothing major though

So after playtest, results are gooood
