How about tracking down elusive drivers/finding what drivers your mobo etc needs. Ive had trouble in the past with building machines from spares, not even knowing what model the mobo *is*, let alone having the drivers for it. Might be a bit out of what you were aiming for here though.
EDIT:oh, and a guide as to what to set your bios settings to would be good.

it's a possibility, but it's one of those things that could be massive hassle, given the hundreds of flavours of bioseseses out there.EDIT:oh, and a guide as to what to set your bios settings to would be good.
i'll likely cover the essentials* in a setup and troubleshooting section
*boot drives, memory speeds, system clock setting, etc.
