I'd leave HDR on if it didn't effect the framerate so much, it looks nice.

It's kinda pretty, i'd use it in singleplayer, but for multipayer, i think bloom is as far as it should go. there's no good reason to turn on something that gives you a framerate, and visibility disadvantage.

:above: This

I like the effect and how it looks (except that shot of Dust, that's just silly) but it's definitely a disadvantage for MP

yup.

it's a shame they can't do a better job really, mostly i think HDR just needs toning down a lot, at the moment it's pretty much a case of valve showing off their new toy.

My lack of WIN and AIM already puts me at a disadvantage, some shinier graphics isn't going to make much of a difference. :)

Although I do appreciate it makes enemies harder to spot in certain circumstances.

pfft, i think part of the problem is that the main HDR map we play is militia, which (with HDR) biases the map even more to the terrorist team, given as a CT your lighting is fucked in and around the tunnel.

Perhaps I get too much into it, but when blinded by HDR I have been observed blinking and holding my hand up to shield my eyes.

Also I'm told, I physically duck down when behind crates, and shake my head to "clear my ears" when experiencing the bombshell sound effects in CoD.

None of these action are particularly helpful in multiplayer, but do demonstrate how immersive I find the games sometimes.

The new skins seem to be broke for me. The arctic ones appear as guerillas and the GSG or whatever appear as GIGN.
