Well yes, but you can access your inventory at any time. Guild Wars only lets you change spells when you're in encampments.
Oh, and I found you can buy piebald or "paint" horses in Bruma, for only 500gp. They're supposedly the toughest, which would be good when you run into mountain lions. Then again, anything but the 5000gp black horses are slow and annoying, IMHO. If anyone wants any advice on Thieves Guild or Dark Brotherhood missions, just say. I'm also working on the Order of Virtuous Blood, but it's not obvious if it's advancable.

That's true, it's just I learn which are which and like using the hotkeys - the fact it pauses when in the inventory, while useful, does break the game flow a little.Sticky Label wrote:Well yes, but you can access your inventory at any time. Heres a tip to help level up.
Firstly ensure you have a level 4 or 5 charecter (any less and you might die alot more often).
Take a horse, you can walk but itll take longer to reach.
Take lots of health potions, arrows and get good armour.
Now leave IMPERIAL CITY and head in a NORTH EAST direction toward LAKE ARIAS. Try to stay inbetween the BLUE ROAD and the SILVER ROAD to stay on course. You should see a hill and on top of the hill is a GATE TO OBLIVION, now proceed through said gate and hack and slash to the top of the tower using the REST tip ive mentioned before to return to full health magika and stamina. Close the gate and by this time dependant on what charecter you have chosen you can go up 2 levels (i went up 3 but im a big knight in the game).
Good luck and i hope this helps.

Some piccies of my Dark Elf Battlemage, only level 5 but I've just finished a long quest and have 2 level up's ready for nap time.
The first one is wearing my Robe of Glib Tongues for hanging around town and helping persuade people to like me, also wearing my Amulet of *cant remember* which I think gives me 5% extra speed, in the others I'm wearing some Blades gear, i'm particuarly fond of the Blades sheild

I got to level 18, and decided to give the main quest a go. Now some asshole decided to give me a ring of vampirism which I can't get rid of, and there are gates to Oblivion fucking everywhere.
Gameplay bug: Doing the main quest is best if you're a low level. As you level up, the enemies get tougher, but the guards don't. Therefore, doing the quests while a low level means the guards kick ass, at my level, they get eaten before they get through the gate, usually.
Also, for no apparent reason, the guards attack me once I close the gate outside Bruma. If this happens to you, don't retaliate or you'll get a bounty. Run away, preferably on a horse until they turn back. They'll enter the city and vanish.
Nice armour you have there, Bobbins. I don't want to sound boastful, but it would take too long to be worth it typing out all the bits of armour I have.

Nice benefit of the Thieves Guild is that they sort out your bounty for you, haven't tried it yet, but I think the guy said the fee was roughly 50%.Sticky Label wrote:don't retaliate or you'll get a bounty
Also I found a lockpick seller lurking behind the stables to the left of the main entrance to the city, but I hear you can get skeleton keys later on which dispenses with the need for them.

No, really? I must have missed that when I got to the rank of, you know, Grey Fox. That was sarcasm, by the way. No sign of a skeleton key though, but at security level 88, it's not really a problem. You can buy lockpicks from any fence, about five or six gp each. They get 100 of them a day, I think.FatherJack wrote: Nice benefit of the Thieves Guild is that they sort out your bounty for you, haven't tried it yet, but I think the guy said the fee was roughly 50%.
Yeah... to be honest, there are quite a lot of them around, and they're too heavy to be worth carrying back to be sold. Magic rings and amulets are where it's at.mrbobbins wrote: It's worth sod all but I think it looks cool

I'm currently getting my arse minced in the Oblivion plane - and I'm only on the first one!
Think I might go back to my other missions
