Anyone considering getting the new "gun porn" game Black? It looks like fun but I don't know whether I can sacrifice PC game time to spend playing on a console.

I wanna get it for when no-one will play with me befor you say anything berk dont or have someone else on the PC
Ooooh, another FPS with lots of guns and explosions!
I wish for once they'd do something a little bit different in FPSs. Every one that comes out at the moment seems to be an identikit game. Quake 4 was boring as an Amish party, and CoD2 single player has left me bitterly disappointed.

The whole point of Black is that it's going back to basics. They did it with Burnout for arcade racers and they've had a go with an fps. Deep it may not be, but there's some fantastic ideas in it.

Like what though? Nothing in that review suggests that there is anything remarkably different from any other fps. Fancy graphics, clever AI, destructable scenery - although they may put a slightly different spin upon the ways it's executed, it's still all been done before.
I'm not saying it won't be enjoyable to play (I'm sure it's immense fun the first time round), but I do think it will be just another shiny addition to the already over-burdened fps market. Half-Life 2, CoD 2, FEAR, Quake 4 - all good games, but sod all different about them.
