Re: Hexcells Infinite
6:03 13 mistakes mostly due to mixing up what the {} and - around numbers meant

Re: Hexcells Infinite
yeah, -X- just means that they are not *all* together in a row. Some of them can be touching as long as there is at least one gap. That tripped me up to start with too, its not well explained at all. It basically just means "definitely not {X}"shot2bits wrote:Still getting my head around the -- numbers, i am sure it said they are hexes that aren't connected in a pattern which i assumed meant they aren't connected at all but a -3- hex seems like it can have atleast 2 hexes touching which caused a few of those mistakes for me so ill have to take that into account and look elsewhere on the board for further hints.
Re: Hexcells Infinite
yeah just had a prod at a couple puzzles and found it much easier with that, also just got introduced to the numbers inside blue hexes mechanics which may have been helpful too.

I was trying to teach Sprog to play earlier, at her request. By level 1-3 she was starting to get the hang of what the basic numbers meant. Making mistakes didn't seem to frustrate her in the least though (unlike me).

Re: Hexcells Infinite
Kids are much less bothered by failing in games. It would be great to be like that again.
Re: Hexcells Infinite
Maybe it's because kids like repetition, whereas adults hate it.
Re: Hexcells Infinite
20:24 with 2 mistakes. Not helped by my brain going awol for a big chunk of time in the middle

3:47, also 2 mistakes.
Re: Hexcells Infinite
4:19 and 1 mistake. That was a pretty tough one.
Re: Hexcells Infinite
I did this one early today before i went to work and accidentally clicked through the score screen at the end, it was about 5 minutes with i think 7 mistakes but i don't seem to be able to find a way to bring it back for exact numbers
Re: Hexcells Infinite
12:46 - 4 mistakes
Is there something I'm missing here? I'm not sure I could physically click that fast... in the video it looks like they're dragging the mouse over several and breaking loads at the same time, is this a thing or just speeded up?

Hahaha, todays was not my best time.
03122014 - 329:26, 2 mistakes. No, thats not a typo. I started the game, got distracted, forgot about it and went shopping instead.

03122014 - 7:06 with 0 mistakes. I felt like I did pretty well on that one but Joose robbed me of a potential legitimate victory with his outrageous time.
EDIT: Hang on, that was yesterday's.

04122014 - 5:37, 1 mistake. Overconfidence towards the end got me there.
Re: Hexcells Infinite
7:01 and 1 mistake. That was tricky, but the far right column was fun to unpick.
Re: Hexcells Infinite
10:02 with 29 mistakes, still not quite got the hang of this.
