Possibly worth a new thread if we're doing tekkit, as a few of us are clueless as fuck so it might make it easier a bit.
Would it be worth us putting together a 5punky tekkit guide if we do make a tekkit server? Admittedly, the new tekkit has a bunch of stuff that I have never seen either, but I'm sure some of the old stuff will still be relevant.

There's also the option of Hexxit (magicery, not machinery) and various options in the FTB launcher, some like Tekkit and others more like Hexxit. There's also the Horizons pack which focuses on brand new mods, which sounded quite interesting. It's hard to keep up to be honest. The few packs I've tried do give you a few tools to make learning the mods easier than it used to be, instruction books and the ubiquitous NEI included. Learning the basics of NEI is a good idea regardless of the mod-pack.

I'll post a poll thread with some details, for voting and discussion, in the next few days. It's quite busy at work, so I'm not in any immediate hurry to change the server. And bear in mind these mod servers are likely to be more breaky, but don't expect me to do much more than a rollback on the world files. I'm no expert Minecraft modded server admin. :)

Whitelist:
/edit - See the hidden place

I'll share the world when/if we're done with it, sooner if anyone asks.

Stick a button by the slammy door path after the lava roof would you? The pulsy thing stops sometimes.

Very much this. I think you and I both figured out some stuff in the old Tekkit which had Equivalent Exchange 2 which we in-game passed on to other peoples. Much later, I came back and the peoples we'd passed that on to had elaborate setups which they then passed knowledge of and useful items back to me.

Sprog's Minecraft server is: 85.236.101.112:26165

It's usually inhabited by children, so try not to swear too much or rob them, they get pissy.

Otherwise, go wild for some vanilla happiness. (which sounds like a kind of lube)
