IIRC the marble house was immediately visible on spawn, but the village was a short walk away. My house in the village, the furthest away from the spawn seemed to be unaffected, but some bits of garden next to where the rubber trees were were gone, so I could be right on the edge of the spawn zone.

I wouldn't mind relocating though, if there is a nice village around, the caverns I'd explored and lit under my house are all messed up, though that could easily be the work of creepers.

Any specific items, other than the batbox? I could get rid of all my IC2 machines, but I really like the diamond drill and that requires a least one machine to charge it. Not that it matters at the moment because I lost my awesome drill in the Nether and don't have enough diamonds to replace it. :(

The first couple of times were the hatbox, but the last one wasn't. I'd rather keep using it as is and try and fix things than just avoid iC2. It's a lot of stuff to avoid.

I had a quick look at the Twilight Forest in my single player game. I think it's all in a different dimension/world like the Nether. You need to spend a diamond to make a portal to the world. Looks pretty good, an eerie forest with lots of interesting stuff in it.

And Thaumcraft has been updated as well, changing how the wands work a little. They have a power bar above hunger now, rather than a durability bar. My wand wouldn't charge after use but a trip to the Nether with it fixed that.

I'm using the 128x version of BDCraft/Sphax texture pack. It's a bit of a faff at first, but it looks great once it's sorted - clicky here for link to files and set up instructions

How handy! Server now has the above whitelist. If you are not on it, speak now or forever hold your piece.

Still doesn't work for me, but then I had to change my username to my email address when I upgraded my account. I wonder if that's it, and if so I hope it doesn't use that as my display name.

Is there anything we can do about the Nether portals? I need to get soul sand but being stuck up that high its pretty impossible, also having to trek back from Jooses every time I come back through is getting a tad annoying.

The problem with the Nether portals is that they are too close. Apparently you need portals to be at least 1024 blocks from each other, or they will go to the same place in the nether. Im not sure how close the two portals are, but its clearly closer than 1024. I shall investigate.

I've moved the portal from the volcano out East: x584 by z161
It's just over the 1024 distances from the portal near Joose's base. Don't fall in the riven on the way. I've also made a path in the Nether down and out of the enclosed area.

I do recommend getting yourself a jetpack for the Nether though, it's much more practical.

Just thought I'd point out that if you haven't used a jetpack before, careful now. If you use it on the default setting it will likely kill you before you've got the hang of it. Switch from normal-mode to hover-mode straight away. Do this by holding space (don't go to high) then press M. It should say "Hover mode enabled". It isn't the most efficient way to travel but it stops you dropping out of the sky too fast.

Interesting things learnt from the last couple of days: Twilight Forest is filled with shiny interesting things and lashings of glorious resources, but its also filled to the brim with sudden horrible death. Dont go there at all without reasonably decent gear, and even then watch yourself: Both me and Spoodie went in geared up and both had at least one "oh, I am suddenly dead" moment.

Its also worth noting that TF seems to break where your spawn point is set. If you die in TF you dont go back to the overworld, you go the default spawn for TF. When you then go back to the overworld, your spawn point still wont be your cosy bed, it will be the default spawn. At least, that happened to me, ymmv.

The jetpack is part of IC I think. The electrical one is at least.
