I got one of those Well Spun Hats, but I'd already stopped playing. And I still haven't got the highest level in any MMO ever. So much for that goal in Rift.

I did, twice. I'm on Steampike now but my sub runs out in a few days and I won't be re-upping. As good as the game is the end-game is dull as ditch-water.

Not sure how much use this is as most of us bought it (or just don't care), but Raptr are giving away free copies of Rift to "experienced" mmong-ers.

That's rather interesting. Rift is a good game too. How many of us use(d) Raptr though?

I do! Experience is based on the number Raptr players playing though, so you have to do more to get the same grade in a popular title, whereas just turning up for say The Guild 2: Pirates of the European Sea will grant you Elite status.

Having said that, I'm tracked as Elite for WoW, Eve, LoTRO and Skyrim, Hardcore for Witcher 2 and Dedicated for D&DO and Champions. http://raptr.com/FatherJack/about?searc ... fatherjack

Also, I don't know if you still can, but you used to be able to import your Steam stats - which is why all my Eve time is recorded.

It's only a month's playtime of Rift, though - and if it's time-limited I'm away for the first week, but it's probably better than what you get with the trial version.

Hmm, the forum says I'm not eligible, as I have logged Rift time. Yeah, 8 hours in the demo :)~

Anyone want Rift? I bought the game in a sale and got so bored with the free trial that I never upgraded the account. Its been sitting arround doing nothing for a long time now.

Rift is now free to play. The good news is that anyone who bought it previously has access to the whole game as it was when you left it, bar the expansion (unless you bought that too). New players can get everything the game has to offer, but are simply limited to two character slots and three bag slots. That's not bad at all, and the game is pretty good as MMONGs go (but still an MMONG).

Compare against other free-to-play converts here. Why the fuck would anyone play SWTOR with restrictions like that? It wasn't even that good without them.

Oh cool, last I heard it was F2P up to a certain level, did they remove that restriction altogether?

I've not tried it so I couldn't say for sure. The article seems to indicate that the only limitations are the ones mentioned, but it isn't explicit.

I think this may have saved me from caving in to my warcraft cravings (which I think were down to me being unable to dunjun thanks to no cocking LFG in any games these days - cunts) Will be downloading and letting you know what the limits are, though I will have the middle option on their little table, as I own the game already.

As Guild Wars 2 didn't really grab me I could handle a bit of Rift. It was the MMO I really enjoyed.

I might duck into this when it goes F2P. Always liked the look of it but couldn't justify a second subscription when already paying for Eve fun. Now it's going free I could see some 5punky shenanigans taking place.

I love Guild Wars 2, I think it is fantastic but there is one major flaw - no LFG tool. I prefer to play my MMOs with lots of dungeon running and teamwork, not standing around a social hub spamming chat channels. Quite why they thought/think they didn't/don't need one is beyone me, they did everything elso so fucking well!

I have resubbed to Rift, I really enjoyed it when I was playing, I think the only reason I stopped was because of SWTOR anyway - which as an excuse is shit and as an MMO is worse - I've started another character from scratch as I can't remember anything. I shall post a re-review at some point.

I've used that in the past Sheriff, it is ok but not idea - like you said.

In Rift related news, Raptr (I think it is some kind of X-Fire spin off thing) have a promotion that grants free game time for new accounts and a free expansion - the only catch is you have to play the game until you are in the top 60% of players with hours logged. The way around that catch is that you can download the game and just leave the launcher running...apparently.

Do we have a shard that we're gonna put the 5punk guild on? Apparently our existing one is for trial players only.
I'm gonna move to the PVE-RP one (Argent) and see what it's all about.
