Just sounds like the con was poorly-organised by a firm not used to gaming conventions where there isn't enough time to see everything. 5000-odd people trying to get their stuff signed? There aren't enough hours in a weekend.

I believe they have fallen out in the past, so this isn't new and there are probably other sides to the Yogcast counter-claims of having to pay their way there and the selling of their videos to IGN without asking. Notch doesn't do himself any favours with glib, cryptic responses.

When you have half a million followers on Twitter, you'd better be damn sure you have your facts straight before potential incitement.

Notch just apologised for being a dick. I guess they were both pretty dickish. There you go.

In other news: 1.0 is nice, and Painterlypack.net are supporting it immediately. Oh, and the new sounds for things are lovely.

Is anyone actually going to come back and play this? I've been alone on the MP server for about three weeks :P

I suppose this is what comes from not getting Skyrim

I've been playing SP on hardcore today. 1.0 looks to have put loads of new content in, not that I've seen a lot of it. A creeper kamikazed me from the top of my own tower last game. If there was something to do in MP other than build stuff I'd be all over it, but there's nothing challenging about it.

Last weekend I got burnt out on Skyrim and decided to have a quick look at enchanting on a new SP world. After a while I discovered it wouldn't be quick as I'd need at least 5 diamonds, 2 for the enchantment table and 3 for a pickaxe to get the other ingredient; obsidian. I'm persevering.

I didn't want to cheat as that would take the fun out of it. And I wanted to do it SP so I have total control over using the latest updates (I'm using one of the latest post-v1.0 weekly updates with re-growable wool), backups and I'd have the option to edit the world if I really wanted to. Possibly if I wanted to make something big without building it all in-game. All the videos I've been watching have given me ideas.

kinell, I thought that was impressive for 16 hours, then I saw how many of them there were! I like the idea of Minas Tirith, with a side of Helms Deep :) (Have we finished the Mall yet?)

I started Minas Tirith on the server we made Isentard. I had the cathedral and the top of the stone spur made. Height is a problem, since it starts on top of a mountain and then has a huge tower on it. However, what about down? Mines of Moria anyone?

I've been on our server recently and it is having a few issues, the sky road is functional but makes a time lapse video look smooth the same goes for the desert area where the first mall was half built. The rest seems fine so I am wondering if it is the water covered mountain that is causing the issues, I've noticed that the server cpu and required memory shoots up when you go near it (and the worst of the lag appears near it also) Could somebody turn the tap off to see if that fixes it? Otherwise that area can't be used.
The start area and surroundings seem fine, just the desert and flooded mountain.

I've also been thinking about saving off the map and starting again but I'm not going to do that if anyone wants to keep going on the current map.

sounds good to me. if they have been tweaking biomes it would be good to see the differences in multiplayer.

Biome changes are beaches, Taiga and more hills (more interesting geography, presumably), although there's other changes from beta to 1.0 that we won't have seen on the server. So yes, I'm all for a refresh.
