Well no, but they seem silly for sillyness sake rather than anything else. At least in my eyes.

I've never really been wowed by the views in Minecraft, but I just made a world with a starting position which made my jaw drop a little. Not that it has anything on a huge scale, it's just very idyllic.

I can see them both staying, the mushroom biome fucking rocks. Poisonous brain-leeching fungus? Awesome.

Post the coordinates to your base and I will build you a subway station! We already have one for Tezz, MrJ and myself!

How do you check your coordinates again?

Press F3 to see the matrix.

I can't help thinking that at least part of the 1.9 pre-release is a joke. Not that I object to any of it, but those mooshrum cows seem suspect. I'd be happy if they stay though and any other outlandish nonsense.

Somewhere around the hallway that's forming under my camp. It's nothing to look at, but it's just a quarry really.

Ta!

Also, is anyone else struggling to find coal? Last two maps I've played on MP have been fairly flat biomes (swamp and forest), and I've got piles of iron but not a single piece of coal.

Coal became a lot less common, but you can find huge veins of them if you do - I found shittons of coal, if you go around the subway tunnels you can probably find a lot left behind as well.

As for iron, it's fucking everywhere, in veins of 8 or so.

There's plenty of trees around for charcoal. Doesn't seem a very efficient use of logs though.

Don't play with creepers that have been hit by lightening.

This is the kind of mess they make.

I made this:

It was actually relatively easy, using this tutorial.

There's a good view of Dog Pants creation from Tezz's balcony. The distance fog gives a nice sense of depth.

I'm enjoying the game more now that I don't have the ability to give myself ultimate op powers. Don't give them to me, not even if I beg.

Eh, just set up a tree farm with about 20 or so birch trees, you'll have plenty of logs.

I've found diamond to be far more common than before (at the bottom of the map, found 3 veins of it in the space of a few minutes)

Current subway architecture:

Pants (No exit) <----> Tezz <----> Bali <----> Buzz <----> Mr.J <----> Fab

If anyone else wants to be annexed, post coordinates.

I also finally figured out those bloody slimes (Thanks Stoat for the tip) and now have a slimeball farm.

Is there a way to channel lightning? Could you create an army of electrified creepers and entice them towards your enemy's fortress?

I've stuck a couple of slimeballs in the main subway station chest.
