Interesting, looks like it could add at least some of the depth a lot of us have been hanging on for.

Minecraft on Android. Rather interesting. I do wonder how I'm supposed to play it on my Hero, which has only 8 physical buttons, of which one always returns to home screen, one always puts the phone into sleep mode (display off), and two of which always controls global volume.

Singleplayer Minecraft mod pack of goodness - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rhNKOArgm1k
You can download it from here - http://skylands.goonygoon.com/

If you want stuff to do in your singleplayer experience. I can see modding and user generated content being the real future of MC.
I've had a quick go and it's very laggy. I've chosen not install the TooManyItems mod as it seems to me that'd render the game a bit pointless, unless you just want to mess about.

QUESTION:

If I run a server on my PC can a MAC minecraft user connect to it?

I ask because at the moment a friend on a Mac cannot. I see a connection attmept in the server info window but it just says lost conection almost immediately. I have tested the server externally and I can connect fine on other PC's.

There's no reason it shouldn't work, at all. given, y'know, macs don't use appletalk any more.

Perhaps a weird firewall issue on the mac end?

Yeah could be, maybe Hamachi would work, unless that opens up other cross platform network issues?!

I'd try to avoid hamachi, just because it's a pain in the arse and adds another level of complexity.

Can the user connect to other minecrack servers?

I was doing most of my minecracking on our server from a Mac without any problems and I guess that was running on a Windows rig

It could be the Mac user needs to update his software manually. If it's too old the launcher may not be able to do it.

DDOS attacks are very lame, considering it's just a load of basement dwellers running an app. Maybe if we ignore them they'll stop showing off and do their homework.

Unless it's one basement dweller who bought non-exclusive access to 1000 computers for $50.
