Doom!
As for blueyonder being involved with Doom, I've yet to experience their customer services department

Hehulk.
It has been mentioned perhaps two or three times in this thread, that a cacodemon is from DOOM . Let's open our eyes.

Not until WEY's post, did I fully know that it was from Doom, Could've guessed, but didn't know.
(My guess would have been wrong.)

How can you call yourself a gamer and never have played Doom?

All down to age I guess.
I was quite young and at school when Doom came out.
Didn't play it properly until about 4 years after it was released as I didn't have a P.C.
Played it to death on the PS1 though, and it fucking rocked!

Doom on the calculator is my favourite as it's just ridiculous
Edit: And I love the fact that they already have sections for stuff that can't yet play doom..

We played Doom over the network at uni. Not the network we had made in halls, the actual uni network. We hid the game cunningly by keeping it in our email inbox, attached to an email. Unzip, play, delete. FTW!
Comedy moments include:
The discovery that you could run faster than rockets, making firing while chasing people hazardous.
The discovery that the best weapon for sniping was the shotgun
The discovery that the cheat modes work in multiplayer
The discovery that using a haxxored version of doom to play 32 player games causes the crashing of large parts of the uni network

Yes, it ran over IPX and was a fucking mare - they fixed it in later releases.
I stayed behind at work one night with another bloke and got it working, so I played it once, ever. I remember feeling a bit wierd doing this.
Quake was the first one I really played, and over the intertron, too. By really played, I mean I stayed behind in the office every night until they closed the building for the best part of a year.
