How to fail at marketing by EA:

Hype product for 5 months, release beta, have everyone's details stolen, try again. Spend another year making game, jumping up and down waving hoping people will notice you.

At this rate TF2 will have upgrades for every class and Left 4 Dead 4 will be out before they release it to an uncaring public.

Just been to https://www.battlefieldheroes.com/
and lo! the long promised almost mythical "PLAY NOW" button did reveal itself to me.

Been waiting for so long, I am doubting myself. What if i am hallucinating?

I had a spare beta key and pimped it on the forums, everyone cared so little that it sat unused. I think the last time I bothered to click that play now nubbin was about 4 months ago. It was too arcadey and such.

I guess what I am sarcastically saying is that it has been so long that I am no longer that interested.

curious maybe, as I haven't seen it yet.

BF 1943 is out now (not PC yet I'm afraid), this product is now defunct.

I'm confused about BF1943.

Four maps, three player classes and 24 player limit, why have they done this?

Because they wanted to piss off their old core audience by not releasing a good pc game in 5 years, just concentrating on console-shite?

Simple; it's a budget title, aimed at a broader audience.

Well, the proof is in the playing. BF: Bad Company was good, it even came with genuine Beef Rage included. Of course for someone that's willing and able to play ArmA 2 the console versions of Beef might be a little too limited.

And we'll see if 1943 is any good in September, just seems like it's taking a step back from the epic battles of BF2, and towards gameplay for hyper children.

Until then, I'll stick to the game that gives me many hour battles using tactics and beer.
