This, mostly. It plays silly buggers without fettling on some of the more random stuff I've dredged up from the internets but generally has everything shiny and happy straight from the get go.Dr. kitteny berk wrote:Commie codec pack

I use the Homecinema variant of MPC. It's mostly the same, but it adds things like video decode acceleration and such.

As for codecs, CCCP or ffdshow-tryouts are good.

Used to use the Union of Soviet Socialist Republics, but switched to VLC a while ago.
It can go all the way up to 400% if you use the mouse wheel, I kinda like that since 24 and House tends to be a little quiet even on 200%.buzzmong wrote:I love the extended volume contol of 0 to 200%, as I don't like fiddling with my main volume all the time.
REal Media Player
Media Player Classic is the best media player codec collection you've ever seen.
As long as the gui doesn't matter it still the best app for multimedia.
I hope that someone could redeveloped the media player classic for visualizations and skins like windows media player.
