The film would have been quite good without Ripley in it, and I liked the touch with the failed experiments in the vats. Even so, for me the Alien series ended at Aliens.

Alien 4 was an ok piece of disposable action I thought, but didn't stand against the first 2 films. At least it's not as bad as AVP
