According to beebs website, the new one will show up in the Christmas special by some time travel trick thing but only fully replaces Tennant in 2010.

Full replacement should be in 2009/4.

Anyway, I kinda like that new guy, but I guess the title was just there to fuck us over

I wouldn't mind him being a companion though (compared to fucking Donna, that'd be a definite relief)

New beeb promise, next Doctor is revealed this afternoon in a Doctor Who Confidential.

I don't see the point of revealing the next doctor yet, they havn't even filmed the episode where David Tennant's has to regenerate, let alone started on the new series.

They should keep it hidden for the suspense.

It could be that he's an unknown so the BBC can spend the intervening period telling everyone who he is and why we should care about him. Or perhaps he is a she? People would need a year to deal with that bombshell.

They seem to be continuing the theme of having a Proper "Ack-Tor" as the doc, rather than an ex-Blue Peter presenter who's popular, so that's good in my book. Konnie Huq would make a good companion, however.

It appears to be a fairly recent addition to the swearomatic filterotron, along with a ladies front bottom one which no-one seems to have stumbled upon yet.
