Christ, she's 40, didn't realise that.
Sort of half watched it, I'll probably only be watching this series for the return of Martha and Rose.
Spoilers? wrote:Rose popped up in this plane of existence and walked off and faded away.
Seeing as she's working with Torchwood in the other universe, I'm guessing they've developed some kind of transportation method?
Seems to be getting more and more cartoony with the characters which makes me cringe a little.
See the nanny lady pausing before falling wile-e-coyote style, and the grandpa at the end doing a little jig.

Meh. :bored:

Woohoo, someone at the Beeb has a brain, it's on iPlayer, thank fuck.

I was shopping and missed it.

Edit:

Watched.

5/10.

They've changed the theme music as well, it's more like a pop song again and less wooo-oooh-oooooo, woo-ohohooh, wooohoh--ohoho ooohh.

I sometimes wish Hungary wouldn't be a fallen back crapcountry, television-wise. We still have this once a week rerunning the same series...

Yeah, pissed off about the guitar in the intro.
I much preferred the strings and horn combo.

Am I the only one who actually doesn't mind her as the new companion? I was getting increasingly pissed off with the "ooh, let me get in your pants, mr doctor" companions, and was pleasantly surprised that Catherine Tate not doing her "comedy" was actually quite watchable.

It was generally a bit too cute, but I quite liked the funnies. Doctor Who has always had elements of funny to it, really.

Very very no. Alas, from the teaser trailer stuff, I know they *are* both coming back. But whilst I like Rose as a character, her whole love interest thing bored me stupid after a while, and Martha can fuck off and die. Seriously, I cant stand the dim bint.

Sadly, she still has that face.

and this ep gave far too many reasons for her to scream.

Can I have a version that has all the Tate bits cut out? I'm not watching it with her in.

Watched it anyway. She was annoying but not as much as expected. She can't act though.

I thought it was good and bad in equal parts. Parts seemed a bit daft, other bits were actually quite funny. I do like David Tennant, he brings a slightly bemused comedy to the Doctor that I think suits the character. I don't like pretty much everything else Catherine Tate has done, but I decided I'd give her a fair chance and her acting wasn't bad. The character was nicely different from the usual eye candy too I reckon once I get used to associating her face with Donna and not that annoying chav schoolgirl I'll like her more. Even so, not a brilliant startr to the series, but more because of the story than the characters or actors.
