I think Steam was the bitchingness when I used it for HL2.

Also, can someone try and help me find the required/recommended specs for AO on their site, I can't see em for the life of me.

edit: Found em.

They're the original AO specs, it's supposed of gotten a bit of a graphics upgrade when each of the expansions were released, the recommended are about double that now.
I dunno if the graphics upgrades were applied to the non-expansion game though, I'm sure I'll see soon enough.

I despise BitTorrent's slowness. the fastest I've EVER gotten (EVER mind you) was 10K/s. Steam (which I've only had one problem with) meanwhile can download at over 3000K/s here at school...

Well, hwatever server Joose is on really, as he said he started already. I'll assume he's started on atlantean, or whatever it's called, the 1st server anyway.
Now to spend hours deciding over what profession to have and weighing up the pros and cons of looking at the model of a low polygon woman for all the hours what I'll be playing it weighed against being all macho and chosing a bloke.

Just started my torrent, should be really quick looking at the amount of people on it.

I use Azereus on my PC, get good download speeds, up to 40k if I have just one file going. The key is configuring your firewall to open the right port, then it's off like a beast!.

the problem with torrents is that they rely on other people.

quite often on torrents like this, you'll find most people have about the same amount of the download, say 50%, so when people join the torrent, they get really high speeds until they get to 50%-ish, at which point they have exactly the same bits of file as everyone else and have to wait for a seeder to seed new data which then filters through.
