Yeah. It's amusing to hear Gary talk.

Oh and Fawkes is ridiculously awesome with his never ending Gatling Laser and a large carrying capacity.

Vault 108 spoiler:
Spoiler:
All the Gary clones say is "Gary." No matter what they're doing, searching for you, attacking, or talking with another Gary, all they say is "Gary." It's a bit like that scene in Being John Malkovich goes into the portal to his own head.

I'm getting this with a lot of people. I'm finding named NPCs out in the wastes who just attack me on sight, and I get the distinct impression that they're there for a reason more than just being a bullet sink.

I've only ever encountered two named hostiles. One made sense as he was underground and living with raiders.

The other one, I think the whole purpose of his existence was for him to attack you so you could kill him and take his shades. He appears in different locations each playthrough, too.

Is that the sniper bloke? I did nick his shades and they're quite nice.

Aim for their tiny face and they drop. A landmine between you and them is always a good thing, in case you don't completely kill them in the face.

Oh yeah, I forgot about Arkansas in Minefield. That makes 3 named hostiles.

I can't remember the name of the guy with shades, I think he was called Sam. In one playthrough I found him outside Arefu and he had a sniper rifle, and another he was near Megaton with a shotgun.

If you're having trouble with Mirelurks, Deathclaws, or Yao Guais just build a dart gun. Instantly becomes easy-mode.

The guy with shades was who I was thinking of. I found the sniper in Minefield fairly early on but never had any ammo for it. I found him with a sniper rifle near Springvale Refinery (I think that's what it's called).

I found a named sniper bloke - he had something called Reservist Rifle, same as Sniper Rifle but does more damage.

It also gets you more criticals apparently. I'm using it on my guy and it's pretty good. Oh yeah and it uses less AP in VATS so I can get off all 3 shots and a reload before running out of AP.

Is that the same bloke that gives you the location of Oasis? I quite liked that location.

I'm struggling with this game. I know I'm going through an anti-gaming phase at the moment (it's horrible, pray you don't have one, you just can't be arsed to play for more than 5 minutes)

Perhaps I'm not playing it right, but it seems that the wastelands are a rather large focus rather than the individual locations that made up the previous 2 in the series.

I keep finding myself getting bored, or not really giving a shit at all about finishing the quests. I suppose you could say it hasn't engaged me that well.

I had a similar experience Mongbuzz. I thought it was a good game; but it just didn't grab me. The Witcher and [currently] Clear Sky have been far more engaging. I got a good 30+ hours out of it, and I am happy with spending my money on it, but the gushing reviews some people are giving it leave me wondering: "Did I miss something?".
