It's pretty gory anyway I've found. That reminds me of something I've noticed though; when you blow something's head (or other location really) to pieces, you can loot any little bit of it. So when you shoot something that's up on a bridge or balcony or whatever, if an eyeball or piece of skull lands on the ground you can wander over and loot the corpse from that little part. Useful, but a little immersion killing for me.
You can also shoot the tiny little bit with energy weapons until it burns, and the rest of the body no matter how dispersed will burn too. I didn't even bother to think about immersion on my first run through because I was so immersed.

Now I just want the first expansion pack.

Found the Dunwich <strike>Horror</strike> Building, and really enjoyed the creepy atmosphere, but...
Spoiler:
I feel like I'm missing out on something. I killed all the ghouls, that Jamie bloke and found the underground shrine thing - and that's it. I was expecting to battle some tentacled monstrosity. Did I miss something? Is the shrine supposed to react at all?

I think the Dunwich building is there entirely for the bobblehead at the end.

I bought the game yesterday and I'm enjoying it thoroughly. Diffused the bomb, told that burke guy to get to fuck, did the quest for the Irish bar bloke, got the house, now doing that creepy survival woman's one, time to get irradiated i think! :ahoy:

Hmm, I didn't have a quest for Dunwich, so maybe that could have something to do with it.

Although I'm itching to see how the main story line ends, I'm still deliberately avoiding it so I get more time fannying around the landscape.

Just drink the water near the bomb, you'll get 600 rad in under a minute easily.

Or just stand next to it in the water, +2 rad/s gives you enough time to go and grab a cuppa :)

I'm not very far with this, I'm out of the vault, been to Megatron but I did a lot of naughty things and people wanted to stab me. I'm doing that bit again, but I keep moving really slow for no apparent reason. It fucked me off so I emoragequit'd. All health bars max, and I'm walking so slow it's painful... any ideas?

Reasons for slow walking;

1) Are you crouching? Don't crouch.

2) You're carrying too much. Sell it, use it, or drop it.
To check if you're overencumbered go to your items screen and check your WG value at the top.
It should be "How much you are carrying/How much you can carry"

If the first number is bigger than the second then YOU'RE CARRYING TOO MUCH BRO.

Probably over-ecumberated. It won't let you fast-travel when you are, I found it very annoying, particularly when I found a load of dead bodies of big monsters and super soldiers, none of which I'd seen before, in the middle of nowhere with loads of stuff on them I wanted but couldn't carry. Was better once I got the house, but I still have to be careful with what I pick up.

Another time I had destroyed my legs and not noticed - you have to look at the body view on the stats screen and specifically fix them. Happened with my head once too, and the view kept going all blurry like I had malaria or something.

Afterthought; You may have pressed the toggle button for 'always run' which is capslock.

I love having Fawkes around, he makes a great packmule, he's deadly with his gatling laser, and I think the only thing that can kill him is probably a behemoth. I love Dogmeat but when he constantly runs off after enemies it's a pain.

I stealth boy'd up and wandered into a huge enclave patrol with him following, he fucked them all up and didn't seem to get hurt at all, despite taking a shit ton of damage. Maybe he's set to essential.
