I managed to ninja onto a roof in the Empire RvR area earlier. I got a screenshot of me hiding in a chimney but I can't be arsed uploading it. Unfortunately I only got one hill up there because we'd been thrashing Chaos all night so they were keeping away.

Muthafuuuuucckkkkingggg gobbo's! :x

We had a great time in the lag and with the decidedly random targeting to smash as many gobbo's as we could, hours of fun.

Is anyone else having trouble logging in after the recent patch?

Edit: it gets to the license agreement page then freezes up. After task managering out of it there is an error message that says "Authentication Failed - application will terminate'.

It usually says that when the Authentication Servers are down, it happened a lot in beta. Can't see anything on the site about scheduled maintenance, so it must be a crash.

Hmm, it would appear to be an issue affecting a lot of people. Response from Mythic:

Code: Select all

The issue for the people getting the error [5] is a timeout issue. Retrieving the server list when there were just a few servers worked because you were getting less data back from our servers. Now, the list is much longer and we are returning much more information about each server. We have put in fixes to optimize this code and increase the timeout and it has worked for many people; however, it seems there is still a group of people that are having trouble. For the people who are still having issues, you should call your ISP to find out if there is a throttle or packet shaper that would prevent you from getting a certain amount of data at once.
By the sounds of it though, the ISP isn't to blame. I've been on the phone to BT for ages (who are admittedly useless) and they are adamant (the dandy highwayman) that there is no packet shaping or throttling on my line.

Odd, I logged on earlier to show Gomer to Anery and it worked fine. Now I'm getting the same problem as Roman.

Hmm, fixed now.

Ask it to full file check and it does nothing it would seem, leave it a few secs then cancel and re-launch, worked for me.

After continued connectivity issues, lack of response from the 24/7 helpdesk, shitty update on the shitty website and a bad day at work, I saw my arse with the chaps at WAR, and sent a very snotty 'help form' to them detailing my problems (again) and pointing out that the last game who ignored technical problems didn't turn out too well.

I admit it was an over reaction, but fucked if I'm paying £30 for a game that I can't even play. Furthermore their much touted helpdesk hasn't even bothered to acknowledge the first form I sent.

I must say, this game really needs some work on balance.

There's no way a gobbo shit should be able to out heal, and out damage me.

Yes, I'm only a tank, but I should have enough defence to put up a decent fight.

Sounds like you met a good shaman who had plenty of potions narf, I can usually destroy them. Also, sure he was solo? No healers lurking nearby? and level difference? Also, what are you?
