Emulators & Roms

Post by Woo Elephant Yeah »

What's the best places to source them, and what are the best one's for each console/platform?

P.S. I'd quite like to get hold of a lot of Metal Slug & Marvel vs Capcom type stuff from the arcades. Is Mame 32 best for this, and which version?

that is a mighty big quesion!

I used to play MAME quite a bit and you can get gigs worth of ROM from any decent torrent site, they're bound to include the slugs.

Is this an appropriate time to create a tenuous joke about RodHullators?

No? Ok then.

Firstly: pfffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffft

Secondly: I thought he was a Man Utd fan, amd it was one of their games he was trying to watch?

I used to love Rod Hull and emu (with Grotbags et al).

Edit/ Thirdly: what the fuck am I doing up at this time?

I thought that, but I also thought there was a joke there that I didn't get, so I didn't say anything.

Those kids who lived in the pink windmill were damn annoying, I think Emu secretly hated them too. At least they're all grown up now, so I can legally kill them. Ah, wait- that's not actually true is it?

I have loads of emus and roms of Megadrive, C64 and Speccy stuff on my disk, perhaps we could collectively find somewhere to plop them all for sharing. They're not that big individually, but collecrtively: about a gig.

i use SNES9x (http://www.snes9x.com/) for SNES stuff (duh!) did have a C64 one that i lost with my last format cant remember what it was called.

for DOS games use Dosbox (http://dosbox.sourceforge.net/news.php?show_news=1) it's great.

SCUMMVM is good for old adventure games (monkey island et al) http://www.scummvm.org/

I've got a Gens emulator and it says I can play Mega CD roms with it, but it won't let me play Sonic CD! Anyone know what I'm doing wrong?

Mine works, though the music stops working after a while.
Sonic CD confuses the fuck out of me. What doesn't work? Can you play other MegaCD games?
