I agree with everything he wrote, except the pluses outweighing the minuses. There is a lot to like but I really can't bear to sit through another pointless and over-long soft-porn scene between Gaius and #6.Roman Totale wrote:The infallible Charlie Brooker wrote a very good Screen Burn piece about it
I was curious after season 1, I was hoping it would get better after season 2, by season 3, I just didn't care any more.

That's how I first read it and it made fuck all sense, as deject's argument, as a BSG fan, would be that he's done much better stuff in some episodes of BSG (which is what I'd expect him to be saying.)Hehulk wrote:They make plenty of sense to me.
He's saying the actor is capable of more than he gives to BSG
However, the sentence
just doesn't read right to me, it reads very negative, but is actually (I assume) a positive remark.deject wrote:If you think James Callis is a shit actor on BSG, you just haven't seen him at his best.
For example
reads as a negative thing, because it is.If you think James Callis is a shit actor on BSG, you haven't seen him in Relic Hunter.
Try to make the thing deject wrote sound positive, then tell me the words make sense.
I could have misread what deject wrote, who knows

I meant that James Callis has some brilliant moments in BSG. Gaius Baltar is one complex character and at times his parts of the show are tedious, but then out of nowhere he pulls out some brilliantly neurotic awesomeness. Really the whole show tends to be like that, some not so great stuff, a filler episode (*cough* I'm looking at you Black Market *cough*) then some totally holy fuck awesome space battles and shit.

okay, good, so I wasn't misreading, you just made words in a funny order.deject wrote:I meant that James Callis has some brilliant moments in BSG.
