Hype should settle down soon. Bloody Valve cleared all my achievements for being a lazy cupcake, so I went ahead with some friends and did them all privately. Ubersaw is win.

I still need a soldier who is capable of blowing up 5 heads in 10 seconds.

Code: Select all

A required update for Team Fortress 2 and it's dedicated servers should
be available within an hour. I'll send another email once it is
available though. Here's the list of changes:

- Fixed mat_queue_mode crash during level transitions
- Fixed rapid weapon switching allowing Medics to prevent deployed
UberCharges from draining
- Improved prediction of Spy's speed changes when disguising
- Fixed Stopwatch panel not updating if level designer ends round by
hand instead of letting the gamerules end it
- Optimized particle traces on multi-core machines
- Fixed tracers sometimes firing with the wrong team color
- Fixed rapid-fire weaponry critical hit checks getting out of synch
between the server and client
- Fixed map exploits in Gold Rush

This is what they're talking about with the crits detection stuff.

apparently what they're doing is client side checking for the crit timer to spew out a crit when you fire, so it will delay your shot until a crit is triggered.

Still a bit of a bug on Gold Rush, where the little ladder near the bridge kills you

Horray!

The pyro is the next to get unlocks, such as the axetinguisher which does half the normal damage but is guaranteed a crit on someone who is on fire...

And sniper is the next movie :)

Fairly excited about new pyro stuff, I never really play medic but I pyro every now and then, and for the achievements this time you have to rely on your own skills, not on other people's.

Newest update:
Nerf backburner pyros. The 50hp bonus to the backburner has been removed.

This is good.

The backburner is a nice alternative to the airblasting regular pyro, but the 50 extra health meant you were always going to die if it was pyro v pyro and you DIDNT have the backburner.

Fail. Air burst them away, two shotgun shots, rinse and repeat.

I've not actually played teef since any of these new things were implemented. I should amend this.
