Penny-Arcade have it dead-on. Spent a few hours last night playing as medic supporting a HWGuy. All I can tell you is that a lot of fuck was kicked. Twice.
I know it's already been said, but it's probably the most enjoyable on-line game I've ever played. The fact that, when on a rampage, the HWGuy starts laughing like a loon and shouting things like, "Who's crying now? WHO'S CRYING?" would edge it above pretty much anything else on its own, but a drunk Scotsman with a broken bottle as a mêlée weapon? Genius.
The fact that this is just the beta bodes well, I think there's still some balancing to be done (the scouts currently fuck me off) but mostly I think it's a case of getting used to the new team dynamics, who works well with who, that sort of thing and actually playing as a team rather than having some lone cnuts who try and do it on their own.
If I weren't at work, I'd be playing right now

Isn't that for one of the older Team Fortress games though?spoodie wrote:How's that for a post icon?
It's better than nothing, though I imagine stealing the icon used in steam/xfire wouldn't be too hard.
Edit: It was easy enough to grab it from xfire.

I spent most of the short game I had last night doing the ubercharge thing. Only half the people I did it to didn't seem to realise they were now invulnerable and were still moving cautiously rather than getting stuck in, which was kind of annoying.
