Main Rule Book

The MRB contains characters which should be suitable for a North American campaign set around the Coalition States. The Coalition classes can be used for a military style Coalition campaign, or as rogue military in a normal campaign.

OCCs

Adventurers and Scholars

Body Fixer

Body Fixers are doctors who have been criminalised by the Coalition for assisting non-humans. Coalition policy is to eradicate all D-Bees, mutants, magic users, psychics, and whoever else they consider less than human. This does not sit well with many doctors, and all too often they find themselves outlawed.

City Rat

A City Rat, despite the unglamorous title, tends to be a streetwise, swashbuckling petty criminal. They love to flaunt authority, and are usually brash and headstrong characters.

Cyber-Doc

Cyber docs are back-street surgeons who fit illegal cybernetics. Most, although not all, are fairly unscrupulous and many double up as cyber-snatchers, taking second hand implants from unwilling donors.

Operator

Operators are skilled engineers and mechanics, highly prized in a society where very few people understand the technology they use.

Rogue Scholar

Rogue Scholars are seekers of antiquities, treasure hunters. Far from studious old men sat in dusty libraries, they tend to be more like Indiana Jones or Lara Croft.

Rogue Scientist

Rogue Scientists, like Rogue Scholars, are more like treasure hunters than academics, searching for lost technology and analyzing ancient artifacts.

Vagabond

Vagabonds are, basically, tramps. That's about it really.

Wilderness Scout

Wilderness Scouts are modern rangers, at home in the hostile wastes where many would perish. They are by no means low tech though, utilising modern armour, weapons and vehicles while remaining at home in nature.

Coalition

Dog Boy

Dog Boys are Moreau-esque creations of the Coalition. Created in the Labs at Lone Star, they are dogs who have been been given human intelligence and stature. Dog Boys are used by the Coalition to track down psionics, magic users, and mutants. They are popular among their human comrades due to their humility and loyalty. A few Dog Boys exist outside the Coalition in wild communities.

Grunt

Grunts are the mainstay of the Coalition Army, the infantryman, footsoldier. Nontheless, they are well trained and equipped, and usually have the backing of the Coalition.

Specialist

Psi-Stalker

SAMAS Pilot

SAMAS is a light suit of power armour equipped to fly. The Coalition use them as fast moving anti-armour (which includes anti-monster) roles, where their railgun can inflict heavy damage while remaining highly mobile.

Technical Officer

Men At Arms

Combat Cyborg

The Combat Cyborg, or full conversion borg, is a human who has had the vast majority of their body replaced with cybernetic parts. Usually all that remains are the brain, throat, and face (hidden under an armoured mask). Borgs tend to come across as cold and detached, a product of their waning humanity, but often the story behind their becoming what they are is all too human.

Crazies

Crazies are humans who use Mind Over Matter (MoM) implants to become greatly enhanced. They have some psionic powers, and tend to specialise in melee combat. While making them powerful, the implants also have the effect of creating any number of psychoses. Hence the name.

Cyber-Knight

Cyber-Knights are powerful warriors who use cybernetics and psionics. They are somewhat mysterious in that nobody can agree where they come from, and they aren't telling. As their title suggests, they follow a romantic code of chivalry, fighting for the innocent, the oppressed, and the underdog.

Glitter Boy

Glitter Boys are named after the large suits of laser-resistant power armour they wear. These armour suits are relics of the pre-Rifts era, and are passed from person to person. Glitter Boys have a well founded reputation as being wandering heroes, like knights of old, and most people who inherit a suit will do their utmost to uphold the traditions of their forbearers. In addition to their powerful suits of armour, Glitter Boys are famous for their Boom Guns - large gauss weapons which can fire 200 flechettes up to 2km at mach 5, creating a deafening sonic boom that gives the weapon its name.

Headhunter

Headhunters are mercenaries who rely heavily on cybernetics. They fall short of the full conversion, retaining their humanity as the payoff.

Juicer

Juicers are humans who have been greatly enhanced by the cocktail of combat drugs which coarse through their bodies. This gives them super-human abilities, but also reduces their lifespan to mere years, often making them reckless.

Merc Soldier

Mercs are professional soldiers for hire. Unlike Headhunters, they tend to be unenhanced, relying instead on their equipment.

Robot Pilot

Robot Pilots are heavy weapons experts who specialise in piloting either large combat robots or suits of powered armour. They tend to be cool under fire, and see themselves as modern day cavalry.

Practicioners of Magic

Elemental Fusionist

Elemental fusionists combine two opposing elemental forces to form massively destructive results. They tend to be wild and uncivilised, and such is their practice that they seem forever striving to keep things in balance.

Ley Line Walker

Ley Line Walkers are so attuned to the flow of magical energies that they can see its eddies and currents. The name is misleading - they do not need to stay with ley lines, as they see them everywhere, using them to create powerful spells.

Ley Line Rifter

A Ley Line Rifter is ver much like a Ley Line Walker, except they specialise in rifts, using them to hitch-hike.

Mystic

Mystics combine magic and psionics in a sort of self-taught path of hippy monster hunting.

Shifter

Shifters are magic users who concentrate on Rifts. Unlike Rifters who simply piggyback rifts to get around, Shifters are more like demonologists who pull creatures from the rifts to aid them. They have a reputation for being evil and corrupt, bringing evil into the world, but the reality as with all things is not always so.

Techno Wizard

Psychic Characters

Burster

Mind Melter

Psi-Operator

Psi-Stalker (Wild)
