Hmm, some people see nothing more than what is portrayed by sensationalist journalism, that tehran is the seat of power for a nutter threatening the world with nuclear bombs etc etc. I haven't been, but I would assume that if you treat iranians with respect regarding local customs, don't draw cdc's on their police cars etc, then your unlikely to come to harm. The fact remains that no-where is totally safe, your average british street has muggers, robbers etc, same as any other place in the world, an awareness of surroundings can be found with local guides and they'll undoubtedly know when somethings wrong and will move you on. It may well be that you get no support, or if you go you get armed guards, secure compound, panic buttons and so on, I would think it depends on what the job your doing is, if its high profile and sensitive then your other halfs concerns may be more grounded than if your job is essential but innocuous.
As for dejects concerns, his american accent would probably place him in greater danger than your english/scottish one. 'MERICA, FUCK YEAH!

The import, sale, manufacture and consumption of alcohol in Iran is strictly forbidden on religious grounds, with exceptions only for certain recognised Iranian religious minorities (not foreigners). Penalties can be severe.

Re: IRAN?? Would you go??
Well in all honesty (and from what I can gather from previous posts), 2 days isn't so bad. I would, however, go much sooner rather than later as it appears those real life chocolate faces could be next on Bush's hit list.TheJockGit wrote:OK.. If you're over there when the shit inevitably hits the fan it's going to be a much trickier issue. In short go quickly and blag a nice bonus/danger money pay off from it. Also let us know that you get back safely. And bring me a sexy dark skinned Iranian lady if there are any.
I walk along the avenue, I never thought I'd meet a girl like youooo/meet a girl like youuuuuuu
With auburn hair and tawny eyes, the kind of eyes that hypnotise with ruuuue/hypnotise with ruuuuuue...
