The 10 minutes of tonights game I played drove me to the point where I was so raged I just left. That 10 minutes was exactly the reason I suggested infantry only. Chopper flag capping and armour is shit anyway but on a sparsely populated server it's ten times worse. The second round on Mashtuur was over in less than two minutes and the first round on Sharqi was exactly the same. Thats not what I call a decent game of BF2 in the slightest. I'm sorry to say it but while the server remains on vehicle mode I won't be playing any more 5punky Beef unless the server is filled with randoms. I don't consider two minute rounds of speed rape any fun*.

You should have stuck around, those first couple of rounds where just a tester, getting used to having vehicles again. The teams were sorted out after that and it was mostly fairer. Although I was on the winning side to start with so rage did not get a look in. I do know how frustrating it can be when you're on the non-5punk or losing side for a few rounds.

Maybe if you stuck with it for more than 10 minutes you might notice an improvement in the game, rather than sulkquitting.M4niachicken wrote:The 10 minutes of tonights game I played drove me to the point where I was so raged I just left. We had a very good second round on Sharqi and the Jalabad games were good too.

Firstly since I started playing infantry only any server with vehicles activated has given me the rage, not just the 5punk one.Roman Totale wrote:See also: joining the other team because your's is losing.
Secondly I didn't try to change teams. I simply pointed out that they weren't exactly equal, both in skill and amounts of players.
Thirdly, I didn't check the forums/scheduler before I came online. So I was unaware vehicles had been reactivated, If I had done, I wouldnt have bothered joining TS or BF in the firstplace.

Karkand and Mashtuur weren't much fun, agreed, but I really enjoyed the second Sharqi round which went on for a good long time, and Jalalabad was okay, although a bit random as I don't know it very well and it gave me a crash at one point.
Probably more to do with even-ness of teams than anything else, having some of our better players in your squad gives you more of a warm feeling, rather than the one of futility with them all against you.
Both sides having uncappables helps, too - as staring at the respawn screen without any bases to spawn at for most of the time isn't very enjoyable.
So, I'd say 50-50 on the vehicles coming back - they worked well later on, but perhaps ruined the earlier maps. I always feel a bit powerless against tanks in Karkand, but managed a nice bit of AT-whoring against a random on Sharqi who kept nicking tanks, but was rubbish in them. Oh, and I got promoted by rocketing KV in the face.
