Eh? What?

Post by Dog Pants »

I'm fairly impressed with the way TeamSpeak performed tonight, it's just a pity I couldn't hear most of the things that were said because of Mrs Pants watching Eastenders. So if anyone tried talking to me and I ignored them that's why. Sorry :). I'll have to get some headphones with a boom mike.

Also, someone mentioned bunnyhopping being bad sport (or faaabulous). Is this right, and is there anything else I should know?

Hope I did okay otherwise, I certainly enjoyed my first 5punk COD:UO game.

Cheers.

You did more than alright, you seemed pretty good to be honest.

In regards to bunnyhopping, just make sure you don't constantly jump every time someone tries to shoot you.

It's okay to do it once if they are right in front of you or something, but son;t make a habit of it.
Other than that, it's pretty much a free for all, and nobody gets pissy over what their teammates do like certain other FPS games

That's part of the appeal, the elitist (or 133t15t maybe) attitude of a lot of people has kept me away from online games since the original Delta horse, until I found you guys. It makes it very difficult to learn a new game.

Speaking of which, how the watermelon do you use artillery? What dictates when it becomes available (once you've got the rank)?

Cheers.

I had trouble with this one. When you get the message on screen saying "Artillary is in place!" (3rd rank? not sure.) you pick your binoculars and look at the target. When you click Fire it should shout at you again, possibly something about coordinates.

I think your team can only have one Artillary going at once, so if nothing happens when you click fire someone else probably got there first.

There's a good chance I'm completely wrong about all of this.

Once you get the binoculars, this does not automatically mean you get to drop artillery straight away.

You have to wait till you go up to the next rank again (on most servers the default is 40 kills)

You need to stay alive for about 60 seconds, and then you should get a message appear on screen saying ARTILLERY READY.

Right click with your binocluars, look at the target you wish to drop your artillery on, and then left click.

As Stoat said, there is a limit as to how many artillery drops a team can do at one time, so if you don't hear a voice shouting something to let you know it's worked, keep hitting the left click button until you hear a voice to acknowledge it's worked.

You'll soon know if it's worked, as there will be massive explosions on the site you were aiming at, and hopefully a lot of kills.

If done right on a relatively small map, you can artillery the opposing teams spawn, and rack up a lot of kills as everyone runs around wildly

I've noticed that it doesn't work until you get a message saying 'Artillery ready' or something, and then a picture of a shell appears next to your rank. I only managed to see this once though and never noticed any effect when I used it. Might just have been me. I suppose the best way to rack up artillery kills is not only to get to the top rank, but to make sure you do it first so nobody else is using it all when you try.
