After reading that article, I must say, I'm actually quite excited by it.

The only problem is, it might make PC gaming worse, due to the fact the Xbox is going to be a beast of a box, and the PS3 is going to be more powerful again.

I can't see how the PC gaming scene is going to catch up, without graphics/processor/memory manufactures lowering their prices on PC components.

I have a sneaky suspicion the current generation of PC games being better than consoles, is about to change dramatically!

Some more:

technical specs list

It looks like that MS are going to beat Nintendo and Sony in releasing their next gen console first.

It looks good enough for me to do this:

Now I guess it all depends on the games.

Not only is it that but i think that will be the removable hard drive

Alas, it has wireless controllers, i can see it now, on a critical part of a game that requires intense concentration, and the batteries run out :(

Apparently they charge over USB2, so maybe they can also be used over USB2?

I made a suggestion to someone over Live about this sort of thing.. wired controllers that you can wire up so they charge while you continue playing.
Things got very confusing and I think I eventually gave up trying to explain.

One of those links does say the the Battery Packs won't be out straight away, though, so it'd have to know whether it was batteries or a rechargable pack... I suppose that's not too much of a problem on USB though..

Ooh! Me want screenshots of lovely games.

I have to say, i'm excited by this, but i'm not too keen on the Green-On-White color scheme.

Well, if they use NiMH battery packs, then any decent rechargable batteries should charge in them.

doubt i'll get one, its likley going to cost a bundle. however when super fancy pc's drop in price yay for that. now with dual cores coming out soon multi processor motherboards should drop in price (in theory).
i got sick and tired of consoles as of a couple of days ago, if i see gaylo again i'm going to hurl.

It's to show which controller you're using, as you won't have a wire to show you, apparently.
They also do other things, like show when you've got message or invite through Live, but I haven't read the article properly yet.

edit: oooh, it also seems to be a Standby button too. Handeh.
