Please stop abusing XFire
I don't play BEEF, CSS or any of these FPS games on a regular basis, if at all. However, if I chose to play these games, I would of course join the regularly scheduled games that everyone kindly advertises on a daily basis. However, as you are no doubt aware, I don't, which might be a good indication that I do not want to play. Therefore it isn't entirely surprising that spamming me every night with XFire messages achieves little more than to irritate me when I am busy leading a PvP gang in Eve.
It is not very 5punky, and no longer even remotely amusing. Please remember the amount of shit you gave me when I dared to schedule more than one game of Eve in a week and spare a thought for those of us who like to play our games.
If you insist on continuing to engender a 'them and us' approach to this forum community, I will simply leave.
Warmest regards,
Friz

For a start, the one time you scheduled an eve game every night for a week, I merely suggested that we have a felcher so that people don't have to see games they don't want to. for example, You could hide beef and cs:s.
Everyone else could hide eve.
See the bolded bit in the quote above? That's you quite clearly saying you believe there's a "them and us" thing here, and more to the point, you're enforcing the "them and us" idea.friznit wrote:If you insist on continuing to engender a 'them and us' approach to this forum community, I will simply leave.
Also, I'm sure I've said this before, the eve part of the forum does seem to bring a lot of new members to the eve part of the forum, they generally stay in there, rarely (if ever) leaving.
Now, given eve is your game of choice, I think you should probably make a conscious effort to actually get all of the eve players to come out and see the big happy 5punk family, rather than hiding in the eve-subforum wanking furiously over flux capacitors.
Edit:
Also,
You have beef, you have played beef with 5punkers, it's not unreasonable to ask someone who owns a game, if they want play said game with 5punkers.
Did you actually ask chicken plain and simply to stop spamming you?
If you want to have a nice big internet tantrum. carry on. I've said all that needs saying.

I don't think there's anyway to get around the "us and them" thing (or that anyone is really to blame for it), there's a portion of users who primarily only play EVE and rarely venture outside that part of the forum, let alone pop in on other games, and the other side has a few are dead set against EVE, so when they have to share a scheduler and are all on each other's xfire lists, <strike>hilarity</strike> problems are bound to ensue

Shove it up your fucking arse and die.
End of chat.
Firstly, I don't read the eve forum, asking me to read stuff in a game I don't own, play or care to own or play. that's just dumb.
Secondly it seems those posts aren't really doing the job, hence my suggesting a conscious effort, rather than an 18 month old post you wrote last time you had this tantrum.

Probably true (though put in typically Berkish style), but one way to make sure that *doesnt* happen is to repeatedly piss EVE players off and take the piss out of them. Its hardly a "big happy 5punk family" if you keep deriding them for playing a game you dont like.Dr. kitteny berk wrote:Now, given eve is your game of choice, I think you should probably make a conscious effort to actually get all of the eve players to come out and see the big happy 5punk family, rather than hiding in the eve-subforum wanking furiously over flux capacitors.
It wasn't a tantrum until you crossed the line from being a typical cupcake I found quite amusing to someone entirely offensive. I asked a reasonable question, to please stop trying to wind me up by spamming my XFire every night, and as usual you failed utterly to accept that at face value and decided to try it on even further.Dr. kitteny berk wrote:

You have no idea how much we try to encourage Evers into the wider 5punk community that we all enjoy, where we can play the game we all enjoy (yes, our games, the ones we all choose to play).
Check the introduction forum to see how many Evers we have encouraged to get into the other forums, many of who are now full on 5punkers. But if they just see people bad mouthing the game they enjoy on all those forums, you can hardly expect them to hang around can you?
Edit: And yes, I did ask all 4 people who were consistently spamming me to stop, they just continued even more, hence I eventually felt the only recourse was to post a reasonable request on the open forum.
And spamming XFire is not necessary when there is a perfectly good scheduler, that was kinda my point.

I'm going to suggest in the interests of stopping a full blown handbags at dawn incident:
No Xfire game invites UNLESS that person is a regular on the game (barring certain events, like the CS:S tourny), or hasn't turned up after adding themselves to the scheduler.
It's quite obvious as to who plays what, and pm's are far less obtrusive on the forum as an enquiry into a persons gaming habbits.

Um, yeah. welcome to 5punk...friznit wrote:It wasn't a tantrum until you crossed the line from being a typical berk I found quite amusing to someone entirely offensive. You're right, I don't. however I do see X many people sign up, post in the introduce yourself forum, then disappear to whereverfriznit wrote: You have no idea how much we try to encourage Evers into the wider 5punk community that we all enjoy, where we can play the game we all enjoy (yes, our games, the ones we all choose to play).
I realise a fair few are now proper 5punkers and we all welcome them with open arms (and arses) but I'd (at a guess) say the rate is below 50%.friznit wrote:Check the introduction forum to see how many Evers we have encouraged to get into the other forums, many of who are now full on 5punkers. I'm not massively aware of us badmouthing you lot too much. yes you get called gayers (well, you are) and no, a lot of us don't like eve.
How about we hide/delete all of the forums where people are allowed to state their opinions on things? that way no-one will get offended by someone not-liking the same games as them and (oh dear god) saying so.
To be honest, I like to be xfire spammed, I often fail to remember games and then there's the games that you need a few people to get started like beef, where it's handy to make sure everyone possible know's there's a game starting, so we can actually have a good game.friznit wrote:And spamming XFire is not necessary when there is a perfectly good scheduler, that was kinda my point.
