I'm thinking

Karkand
Mashtuur
Oman
Sharqi (late in the cycle because it can go for hours)
Other stuff.

Jallalalaaallllalalllalalaalllallaalllabad instead of Gulf of Oman

If the server is going to be sans vehicles (I bloody hope not) Wake Island is a bad idea.

Oman is good with a lot of people playing, if not there is constant attack helichopper and APC rape, the map can get tedious after a while as well.

BF2:

Karkand
Mashtuur
Jalalalalalalabad
Sharqi
Dalian Plant
Gulf of Oman

2142:

Suez Canal (Titan)
Verdun (Titan)
Camp Gibraltar
Shuhia Taiba (Titan)
Belgrade
Minsk (Titan)
Cerbere Landing

Also, How many people have the Expansions and boosters for BF2 and 2142? There's a lot of great maps to use if enough people have them.

The perfect map cycle for BEEF is:

Code: Select all

Wake Island
100% Fact.

Anything except Fu She, really.

I have all three BF2 expansions, but never really got the chance to play any maps as everyone always wanted vanilla.

I favour infantry-centric city maps and non-titan 2142 maps, because vehicle whoring bores me quite quickly. At least in city maps you can avoid vehicles around corners and climb buildings, which gives you the opportunity to actually shoot some people instead of getting run over or blasted by a tank all the time.

:above: That, maybe we could have an expansion night now and then or something?

:above: That too, I'm not a great fan of titan mode from what I've played of 2142.

Very much agree on the city-map front, makes armour less effective, but still useful.

I will say that Verdun in Conquest mode is utter shit. Way too many walkers and tanks for the number of people.

For Beef I'd probably suggest maps in this order: Karkand first to draw in randoms, then Mashtuur, then Sharqi, then Jalalalalalabad. Shoving Oman in there somewhere is fine as well, maybe before sharqi since it can last a while.

This looks good to me, although we'll always ending up skipping to whatever we fancy at the time anyway. :)

An expansion night suits me too - I have Amourous Furries and Euro Faeces.

I've only got vanilla beef.

But if it was 100% fact we'd be using a certain pack, I'd be up for it. Although I'd like to point out most of the internets has vanilla beef rather than the packs, so getting players on the server could be problematic.

I'd imagine the addons would be played at times when everyone on the server has, say, Amourous Furries and deject says "OMG lets fly tankbusters!" and everyone is like "yeah totally dood!" and then the map gets changed.
