So I bought a 360

Post by spoodie »

After months of deliberation I finally ordered one. I don't need another console and certainly can't play on all the ones I already have, but here are the justification that allowed me to convince myself:

1. This is a bargain.
2. Microsoft renewed my Live account despite emails saying my card had expired and they wouldn't be able to.
3. Due to further confusion over my credit card I now have over £1000 credit on it, not potential debt credit but my actually money is on the card. It has to be spent.
4. ....
5. Profit?

Soon I will be listening to teenage idiots shrieking annoyingly into my ears over the interwaves. :w00t:

So who else has one? My gamer tag thing is of course spoodie.

Can you use that £1000 to buy a PS3?

also, if you plan on getting the 120GB drive, do so now before you buy a lot of Live Arcade games to avoid the headaches associated with transferring stuff to the new drive.

And why would I want to do that? :poo:

Actually I'm sure it's a fine machine but it'd need more decent titles for me to even consider the price tag. Plus I should really keep the money for serious things.

I thought Jeff Minter already had a game out for the 360, must have slipped.

Get Dead Rising ASAP, the only game I'd ever consider buying another 360 for.

Speak of the Devil, my free Xbox360 arrived today :D

Only the core system though, no wireless internet, no harddrive, no wireless controller, no demo discs and not even a memory make me very sad :(

Gonna buy Dead Rising and Gears of War for it though. Not sure if I can part with £30 a year -just- to play it on the interwebs though, when that's free on the PS3...

Live Gold is so much better than Sony's after-the-fact-let's-just-toss-it-in system.

Silver is free, and I believe you don't get demos, online multiplay, et cetera. just some very basic stuff.

Silver's free and lets you download content, text and voice chat, and do MMORPGs. Gold costs money and lets you download some content earlier, and play other games online too.

mine is herecomespete, or similar, not been on for a while, but pending my new credit card, i will possess once more live gold, where i'll give everyone a good halo 2 pasting if they wish, crackdown is my next purchase primarily for the halo 3 beta, handily its a good game too, so i buy it not just for the halo 3 splungeness that will visit me, but a gta a-like as well!
