What should we try inventing?

Post by Hehulk »

Seemed to have reached the point now where most of us seem to want to give invention a shot, so to give the whole thing some focus, what exactly would people want to try invent? High on my list would be strip miners, t2 projectiles and T2 shield/armour junk. Rest of what Silver/Hehulk uses is cheap enough (or in somes cases not inventable yet) so I'm not really interested in inventing it.

BPOs:
1400mm Howitzler Artillery I
Blackbird
Celestis
Condor
Covetor
Energized Adaptive Nano Membrane I
Invulerability Field I
Prototype Cloaking Device I

Required Datacores:

Caldari Shipship Enginnering (16)
Gallente Starship Enginnering (16)
Graviton Physics (2)
Hydromagnetic Physics (4)
Mechanical Enginnering (35)
Nanite Enginnering (2)
Nuclear Enginnering (3)
Quantium Physics (4)

The above datacore numbers are what we'd need to stick in one job of each type, so we can see where we're going to end up with bottlenecks

Crow, hulk (still worth it), recons (prices rising), cloaks....even if we don't sell them, we can surely use them.

I see 2 areas:

1) Profit
2) Use

and depending on whats easier to invent....we could use the "profit" to buy the "use" stuff and/or sell the "use" stuff for "profit".

I want to invent AF, Interceptors and Interdictors. Specifically the rifter, thrasher, slasher and punisher T2 counterparts. Maybe the T2 ccc and cargo rig too but not sure. T2 cruise would be nice as well. I have all those BPO's all ready.

i know some of them aren't great sellers but thats not my sole purpose in this. I want to make T2 pvp ships for 5punkfleet and not worry about all the isk. we'll see how it goes though

220mm vulcan autocannons are one of the highest priced gun types right now and theres no shortage of buyers with so many vaga pilots.

T2 armor stuff is down to 4-5 mil apiece, probably not much profit in making/selling that stuff. (Active hardeners anyway).

I'd really love building our own mining stuff though, T2 Strips, crystals, and Hulks. Having the bpc's to jump into tough to get to areas would be superb, (at least easier than jumping in all the ships themselves).

T2 shield stuff, I'm not up-to-date on prices on, but if it's worth it, cool.

Hells, maybe to jump start this project, we should just buy all the T2 stuff that's selling well in 0.0 at bargain Empire price and jump it out. Sure felt nice having BILLIONS in the bank.

Not that anyone's in a hurry, but something about strip miners in the patch notes to notice I think....

Strip miners already got seeded, CCP managed to fuck the patch notes up a bit.

Hulk, is that a list of BPO's we/you have, or need?

I thought I'd been told nobody had a Covetor BPO, so a little confused there is all.

It's a list of all the BPOs i've counted in regards to what we want/are likely to build, so I don't count the same BPOs twice when figuring out what datacores we need. Some of them we have, some of them we don't.

Mechanical Engineering Datacores are still the bottleneck right? Most datacores are cheap enough to buy or easy to get an agent for.. however Mechanical Engineering is a Minnie specialty i've noticed and the prices on the cores reflect that.

How many agents you got workin' on Mech. Eng. Hulky?

I've got 3? On Caldari Starship and another on Quantum Physics (i think).

Just FYI.

Given the apparent bottleneck, I'll get myself 2 mechanical enginnering agents, but that's going to take a little while :(

When rev. first came out I was gonna jump right into exploration and invention. I didn't have the faction with Minnie corps to get mech. eng. however, and there are like 2 Caldari Agents in the entire game with mech. eng. Unfortunatly they weren't Lai Dai or Ishkudune (the two largest Caldari Corps of which i'm in good with). So, I put invention on the back burner.

I've got a lvl2 Hydromagnetic Physics agent on the go now, would have been higher level but the Amarr empire dont seem to think much of 5punkorp :P

Can someone else take lead on this joint corpy thing. Reason being I'm only on eve at the moment to afk haul, make and sell things. I'm not really playing it at the moment.

Between work, DOD and C&C it seems EVE has been relegated somewhat.

I might as well, I think I know the most about it, althought since the skills are expensive/hard to get I'm not doing all the work myself.

Very Rough Guidline Idea: Anyone with the relevant skills need to have them up to lv4 before we do any invention, and some exploration in the local regions could quite easily net us the BPCs and parts we need to make some interfaces. Failing that, they're dead cheap off the market these days. I know Dolly has the amarr encryptions book, and I'm exploring atm to get silver the minmatar encryptions book, but does anyone else have any trained?

We might as well do it as an op in thing, to keep things fair (you want cheap t2, go run some agents for a few days and then donate some datacores :P ). BPCs arn't a problem atm with so many in elgoi, but once thoe run out we can either rent a load of copy slots from 5punkience, or pester someone like M corp. Dunno how we want to fund meta modules and decryptors though :?

I'd say make them an 'opt-in' item as well, but I've no info on how expensive they are. But I do agree, making it an 'opt-in' and just posting shopping list for each T2 product on the google sheet. If somebody fills a role, (datacores, skills, or decryptors or bpc's) they get a portion of the goods, or income if we sell. Keeps the corp from having to invest, and gets everyone something for their efforts.
