PvP Advice

Post by Knight »

Right then PvP types! Now I'm a 5punker and not a dirty Fw4pper ( ;) ) I wish to get involved with all this wonderful killing I see going on! :ahoy:

So my question is....What do I need/you guys want? I can do Frigs, Cruisers, BCs, BS, not Intys yet (another week sadly). I have Propulsion jamming etc so can basic Tackle....

All suggestions except bumming, CIIJASIIE etc are most welcome! :)

Running about yelling WILLIES works well.

Honestly, start small. Take a T1 frigate out, fit it with MWD, web, scramble, capacitor power relays and overdrives and just watch how other pilots react to situations. When your income expanded a bit, start using cruisers, BCs, BS, etc. Just remeber the golden rule (Don't fly what you can't easily replace) and you'll be fine.

Edit: I have Vent, and use it regularly on other servers.

TO be honest what i see in the gangs we need tacklers! The gang mainly fly recon BC or BS. Tho we are lacking in tacklers. I going to be using Pete to tackle in frigs. Rifter is the best as u can fit 3 nos and MWD 1 20km scam and a web. A small rep and what ever else in low like cap relay helps.

Here my tackle fitings.

Rifter
3 small nos
T1 MWD, Web, 1 20km scram.
Rep, Damage control or cap relays signal apm or cpu depending you're skills.

same above but 2 20km scram no web
OR 2 7,500m scram no web. Tho i use this when you get experiance.

Inty pilot
well i have 2 24km scram fitted and stay about 18km from the BS or 15km scrambling a small ship.

Hell i once use BB 2 sencer boost T2 and 4 20km scram in the past for haulers :P and it worked too!! Carryed small bubble

Thats what i use for tackling. I dont think i care about KM long i am in it i happy :P I also training for a dictor too. So come and be my wing man :)

I've been wondering what are good targets of opportunity for when I'm flying around solo in my 'ranis, or when I get my Ishkur down. So far I've been too afraid to take on anything bigger then a pod. :P

I have perused both the wiki and the EVE-O forums for setups; I know the basics i.e. a tackle setup etc.

Which Amarr frig would be best for your needs, in the gang? For tackling I mean, given that thats apparently what you need :)

EDIT: As I have a punisher, how does this sound?
Highs
3x dual light pulse laser I
1x small nos

Meds
1x cold-gas AB
1x 7.5km scram

Lows
1x small armor rep I (named)
1x eanm I
1x 200mm plate
1x cpr

Aint sure about the plate and all......*shrugs*

Is the bog standard, cheap and easy cookie cutter rifter fit (you can swap rockets for whatever your skills are better at). So we went and bought all the BPO's for the above a while back. There's 100 or so rifters and parts to fit them in Elgoi, so help yourself.

Don't fly interceptor until you get good at tackling in rifters. I keep trying it...and keep losing my inty's.

The only thing I see wrong with that punisher is the AB. You need an MWD, as if the target is 40km away, you just don't get there fast enough. Personal preference I'd saw more of it out for small nos and overdrives though, since speed is the name of the game ultimatly.

And vigil pwns the rifter at tacklage :P

Cus it's one of my favourites (and I'll give wabbit credit for these setups)

Incursus (long range plinking scrambler):

High
3x 125mm small railguns

Med
1x Named MWD
1x Best Named Web possible (or cap charger if you've got others webbing or a hug in the mix so you don't have to go into nosf range)
1x 20km scram (t2 is better or faction for the added range)

Low
1xMAPC
1xSmall Rep/overdrive/nanofiber/istab/cap thingie

-------

Incursus short range suicide boomah ship (if you can be dropped on the target).

High
3x Named small Ion cannons with AM

Meds
1xMWD
1xWeb
1x7.5km scram (20km if it'll fit nicely and you won't be dropped on the target everytime)

Low
MAPC
Small Rep

It's all fairly dirt cheap as well and throwawayable, when basing in an area, I tend to keep about 5 of them ready to fly.

And if you don't want to tackle as much, thorax + blasters + chunky plate is good when you've got the drop on people.

My rifter setup is currently:

3x125mm named autocannons, 1 Small Nos (I'm considering more nos and less guns/rock launchers though)
1 MWD, 1 Web, 1 20km Scram
2xnano, 1 Overdrive Injector

Seems to work well for being the pesky little bugger I enjoy being.

Thanks very much guys, I appreciate all the advice :)

Well, I have Min Frig III now, so I just need to train up Nav/Afterburn one lvl for MWD and I'll be able to do any of those fits...so hopefully by the weekend, I should be in business! :ahoy:

Thanks again guys!

Edit: Cheers Friz, I shall take a look in the hangar :)

I am currently using:

Highs:
3x 200mm II Rails
1x Cov Ops Cloak

Meds:
1x Sensor Booster II
2x Warp Disruptor II
3x Remote Sensor Dampener II

Lows:
1x Medium Armour Reparier II
1x Explosive Hardener II
1x Damage Control II
1x Best Named Capacitor Power Relay

Plus a sensor resolution rig thingy, can lock frigs before they warp, scramble from 43km away with Recons 4 and can make any ship not see past their own nose :) It needs Recons 4 to fit because of the CPU usage of the cloak, but you should have Recons 4 before using an Arazu anyway, otherwise you've got a gimped fitting and can't scramble as far as you should.
