I've finally found out where I'm moving to, and it's north Yorkshire (not brilliant for a Lancashire lad, but hey ho). So slightly further south, and slightly closer to civilisation. Going in July at the moment.

When you said south, I thought you actually meant south. Despite living in Newcastle for nearly 5 years I still have a slightly different different perspective to those of my mates who grew up in the north, since when I was a bairn Oxford was to the north.

Yorkshire's not south to me; I grew up in Burnley, which is right on the Lancashire side of the border. It is, however, more south than I am now.

Aye, all things are relative. Well good luck with the move. Looking forward to it? How often do you get moved around?

My mum is from St Helens and I'm sure she has never expressed a wish to be a man from Yorkshire.

Technically every three years, but I've been here five

Indeed, but there's nowhere for me to go in Lancashire. At least I can nip across the border if I need a breather from all the whippets and stout.

well, good fortune and luck and stuff to you then! also, moving the stuff is nothing, but the packing bit, and the losing bit afterwards is a bloody nightmare, i can assure you.
