Two points that'll decide if I buy it; whether more people start playing 2142 and whether those that do will buy this.

Only three of us playing last night, and I got kicked after about half an hour for repeatedly (and accidentally) TKing my commander. I'm not going to splash more cash on a pack if I'm never going to get chance to play it. Which stands for mey second point too - I bought Euro horse and Armored Fury and barely got chance to play either because not everyone had them.

There seems to be a couple of popular maps. If they're any good I might get it just for that.

A) Well, since there's only about 6 or 7 of us that play futar beef it seems like, if we all get Northern Strike then the numbers thing wouldn't be a problem.

2) Mikkyo I haven't seen you play with us in a while. :(

III) My PC should be set up in no more than a few days so MOAR BEEF!

Actually I think it's £7. Just about worth it I'd say, nothing too amazing but some nice new features.

Got 81% in PCG, although the writeup made it sound less appealing. They thought the Goliath made the new maps very unbalanced, and one especially was just a walker-whoreathon.

I don't think my EA Link even works - I've never managed to download a patch off it yet.

I remember having huge problems when I used to play Need For Speed Underground and using their update page, it would always say update successful when it was nothing of the kind.
To summerise the summary of the summary:

In all truth the only thing that appeals to me about it is the new maps. I don't want to miss a good game because everyone else is playing on a map I don't have. The extra kit is a bit meh and can be got with squad unlocks anyway (extended magazines for engineers are almost essential though), and the vehicles actually put me off a bit after reading the reviews.

After having it for a few weeks:

It's still worth the money.

The new unlocks vary in usefulness. The Infantry Sonar: awesome. RDX Shotgun: not so awesome. Shiny new boots: awesome. There's a bug with the Assault class' radar grenade that renders it fucking useless right now. They'd better fix it because I wasted an unlock on it.

New Maps: Bridge at Remagen is awesomeness in a can, Port Bavaria is good in assault lines mode, but somewhat pants in Titan mode, and Liberation of Leipzig is pretty meh. They can all have their moments though.

New vehicles: The EU Goliath is slow as fuck, and if you're gunning from inside it's boring like nothing you've done in a beef game before. Also, it's fucking useless against other armor, so thank god it can take a beating. The PAC Hachimoto is combo of the PAC hover tank and the attack gunship. The driver's guns are like the gunship cannon and the gunner has a rapid fire grenade launcher thing that rapes infantry and guided missiles for anti-armor. I'm not sure if it's just me but the guided missiles seem to just pass through vehicles for some reason. It's fast which is very nice, but the gunner is completely exposed so if you're stationary you're a sitting duck.

Getting an unlock for every Northern Strike badge and ribbon you earn means you'll get like 5 or 6 unlocks in a few hours.

I quite like being in a gunner in the Goliath, it is slow but it makes a change from the pace of the rest of the game. It's great if you have loads of infantry trying to attack it and you can pick them off. One round I got loads of kills and a few medals, then the server crashed.

I'm loving Northern Spack. The three new maps are all good, the Assault Lines mode is pretty good, the speedy bike thing is fucking awesome, the Goliath isn't as overpowered as it looks, the engineer extended clips are good to the point of being essential for an engineer, the unlocks you get for the badges are rather nice when you're trying to get 10,000 points to rank up.

Since I got Northern Spack I've got my knife and explosive badges by podding into the middle of an enemy held silo on Titan mode and stabbing people or dropping random AP mines. Brilliant fun, and it makes the fighting fairly frantic (this is on the map with the three big monorail terminals and the stationary pod launcher at the back).

Definately changing my vote to a Yea, especially since it's only six quid.
