If you touch your software enough does it become hardware?

Browser Extensions?

Post by Dr. kitteny berk »

I thought this might be interesting, what extensions/addons are we using these days?

I has...

Adblock Plus - Blocks ads, duh

CouchPotato - Allows me to click a handy button to add stuff to download queue

Google Mail Checker - Annoys me constantly

HTTPS Everywhere - Seems like a good idea these days

Print Friendly & PDF 2.3 - Allows you to remove elements before printing stuff, very handy for recipes where you get 12 pages of crap (thanks, jamie oliver) and a page of recipe.

Reddit Enhancement Suite 4.5.4 - Makes desktop reddit less awful.

Save to Google Drive - I'm sure this is useful for a reason.

Firefox:
Adblock Plus - blocks ads
A couple of YouTube downloaders (one does audio only, other does HD) - download videos from YouTube
DownThemAll! - downloads everything else, has one-click downloads, download all of type X on page, DL manager/queue window with options, basically a modern GetRight
Firebug - Shows HTML/CSS inspect elements, loading times etc
Web Developer - Same sort of thing as above
FireGestures - Mouse gestures
NoiaFox Options - Options for the child-like theme I use to make icons small, etc
Password Exporter - Exports passwords to XML
TinEye Reverse Image Search - Searches on image, not as good as Google Image search

Chrome:
Adblock & Gestures (it has Inspect Element functionality built-in)

IE:

I use Adblock Edge, which read somewhere is the best one at the moment, but I couldn't tell you why.

NoScript can be a pain in the bum at first, but once you've got a good list of exceptions it's fine.
