Re: The Bureau: XCOM Declassified
There's a been a few articles on RPS about it (latest article is a hands on), but with it being a different sort of game with the XCOM name and the fact that it went under a reinvention I think people quickly lost interest.

Re: The Bureau: XCOM Declassified
Yeah, basically the original version of this game got slated for being an FPS game called Xcom due to it being announced well before Firaxis' turn based game.
A shame because the original idea with a heavy focus on investigation and some quite interesting enemies looked pretty cool. However, the studio/publishers didn't like it and they turned it into a third person squad game. Which also looked rubbish AND was using a tired boring idea.
They went quiet for a bit, then have come back *again* with another third person manshoot, but with lots more chest high walls and very much aping Mass Effect, just with a big dollop of Firaxis' art assets for the aliens and guns, and taking the cover system. Sadly it's neither turned based nor has a proper pause for issuing actions.
It again, looks a bit boring outside of the art style. It also looks very actiony and without the substance of the turn based game's combat/squad member death.
